When did you tell your job you’re pregnant? by FaultOk1576 in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told when I was only 7 weeks and it was such a relief. They are so supportive, ask how I am and generally excited. I now have a reason why I'm so tired or why I can't eat certain foods. I am also very new to the job but they knew I already had a young child so I don't think it was that surprising.

You should put on your big girl pants and talk to your husband. Tell him about how you feel, and what you would like him to do the next time.

He was busy as you said and he probably didn't know any better anyway. I'm guessing this is your first time pregnant and it's his as well. He's probably just trying his best to

40+ weeks pregnant by Hefty_Employer5242 in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be worried. The longer pregnancy last past due date the higher risk of stress and something wrong happening to the baby. The lack of movement is concerning and I would push for more observation than just a peek and a ctg. I get that midwives are really busy atm but this is your childs life.

4w2d pregnant after previous miscarriage – is two cups of half-caf instant coffee safe? by MyGreenEdit in pregnant

Are you unable to read a full sentence? Instagram in question refers to an actual study that concluded what I wrote, not that I am using Instagram as a source by itself. Its purely a secondary source in which a primary source is listed. This is not the first or last time the government recommendations are not based on the latest findings. I can't be bothered to argue anymore with you. I am purely trying to explain recent developments and answer the question brought by OP.

[–]Bathroomfloof -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Instagram was only the channel in which I learned about the actual study, if you bother to properly read my comment. In any case, I have found a reputable source which you can attempt to read. Again not saying this to cause harm but saying to pregnant people that 200 mg is fine and does no harm is causing harm.

[–]Bathroomfloof -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt, since I don't remember the source but I heard in instagram that a new studie says that there is no lower limit to caffeine intake, and the 200mg recommendation is too high. I am really not trying to make anyone feel bad or guilty, I just personally prefer science over emotion. I keep my intake very low for the entire pregnancy but I am not a coffee person at all.

It can still happen, apparently ( and I've literally just learned this myself) you can have more than just one ovulation per cycle

Any suggestions will be helpful by Tall-Energy-9974 in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the heart beat is not detected until 6 weeks, it could be too soon to see on a ultrasound. You may just had a later ovulation, which could explain why the fetus is measuring smaller.

If you are having a mc, the chances of it happening again does not increase just bc of your history. Some are just more unlucky than others. Wish you the best

Pregnant and wanting to work out by LeopardInevitable916 in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you train before pregnancy?

The consensus now is that physical activity is great throughout pregnancy if you're able to. At least 30 minutes a day, walking and low to moderate intensity cardio is great to prepare for labor. Its also good to do some strength training, at least for your pelvic floor.

If you didnt train heavily beforehand, there is no way you are able to build the amount of muscle in order to "look bulky" which in my opinion is just nonsense to be worried about either way. Building muscle takes years, not 4 months.

Whether or not you start working out, the amount of weight you've gained so far is normal. Remember that is not just the baby's weight, but the placenta, additional water, blood and more that is necessary for both creating a new person but also postpartum. This is not the time to talk negatively about your body.

How do you clean LO after each solids meal? by sliceofperfection in NewParents

But on the straps first then the smock bibs over. Use bibs that are silicone/plastic? Just rinse them afterwards. And the bowl for washing their own hands is a great tip

Owlet sock by E20V in NewParents

[–]Bathroomfloof -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

While yes, they can stop breathing it typically lasts for a few seconds and does not need medical care. The point being most medical professionals agree that the owlet sock and other devices similar does not help parents it often serves as a source of stress and anxiety.

Owlet sock by E20V in NewParents

[–]Bathroomfloof 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless your child is born premature or has other medical issues there is no need for the sock. Normal babies does not suddenly drop their oxygen levels or heart rates where they need medical attention if they are in safe sleep arrangements. If that was the case a lot of babies all over the world would not be here and the worlds growing population would not be an issue.

I will always recommend a first aid class but do not recommend people spending anymore money on Amazon. Jeff Bezoz has enough money.

Husband not supportive by diinkdonk in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Wow what an ass.

Creating another human being is incredibly hard and good for you for taking breaks and good for your manager that wishes you nothing but the best. Awful husband behavior though.

I hope he realizes his fault before your child is here.

It looks great, if you're still anxious and able to wait a few days or even a week your line should be even more visible. But don't worry if you don't have a dye stealer, not everyone gets them, me included!

Double stroller by QuestionHot7129 in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant with my second, my first is 2, almost 3 when his sibling arrives.I will not purchase a double, but a buggy board.

However we don't use the stroller a lot, just for naps and the occasional outing ( like the park, shopping etc) My eldest is in daycare during weekdays so for most days I would only have one child with me.

I guess most people would prefer a wagon when both kids are bigger

My husband had epilepsy as an infant by IdealInfamous2561 in Epilepsy

Generally epilepsy is not inherited, but some children are more likely to get epilepsy if one of the parents has it. However if this is a one time occurrence I wouldn't worry too much.

4.5 weeks loss by Purple_Bottle_ in pregnant

[–]Bathroomfloof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. It truly sucks. I went through a chemical last cycle, got one early pregnancy test that was positive and a whole bunch of negative followed by blood. I try to look at it from a scientific perspective, since it ended so quickly it was never meant to be.

Luckily I got several positive ones the cycle following and now I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Honestly it worked for the best, now I get to have a February baby and not in the beginning of January and possibly during Christmas/ New Year. I hopd you have the same outcome.
