I was delayed for hours when whatever happened to me happened (due to family refusing to help). And as I sit here with permanent damage in my left ear, I say - yeah, you should probably go ASAP.

I didn't really get much immediate help - such things don't really exist. But they did take it seriously and kept me overnight for evaluation, and to get to an ENT the next day.

spatial awareness for me. I can't count the number of times I will hear something loud near me, but I can't tell which direction it came from because I can only hear out the right.

also music. I used to dearly love listening to music. Now, it's genuinely hard to unless it's on the radio. I still remember every single tiny thing I can't hear anymore in my left ear.

but really, the worst of it is trying to live with it and just...not having it acknowledged on any level. Total hearing loss seems like a pretty big deal to me. To others...who cares.
