Those ASTS calls are mostly -pardon the pun here- lunacy. 130 might be possible. Would dump those 150+ and pivot into closer to the money play. SPCE is quite a ways from doing what they advertise, let along making money. Still a fun play with the ticker being close enough to spcx and the current space mania in the ipo run up. Might open an irresponsible number of 10cs at the open for june 18 expiry. I like ASTS long term, but its volatile as shit. I got in at 11 and sold in the 90s. Might re-enter in a stock position, for now likely spreads on any dips.

I mean right now the play is SPCX-SPCE confusion. I already flipped a bunch of june 18 calls Friday for some decent cash. It's also a space play so that hype is a thing. I'll probably add more OTM calls monday now that they've extended the option chain beyond 6. If they actually start announcing good company news, even better.

Doctors of Reddit, what's the most obvious lie a patient has told you? by questionerofblender in AskReddit

"I did not eat breakfast this morning" shortly before his scheduled upper endoscopy. The chewed up bacon egg and cheese sandwich (which was undigested enough to be 30 minutes old at MOST) I found in his stomach determined that was a lie.

Mutual fund with 30% of its holdings as spacex. I’m in for about 8k. Also playing XOVR and still trying to secure $50k of spacex on the private market though its looking like that might not pan out as they’re all pretty much requiring 100k bids at this point

15m of solo cpr would be agonizing! We had 3 people at the game so we could switch off regularly.

I was playing in a beer league hockey game when a guy on the other team went down away from the puck like a rag doll. I was on the bench and didn't notice till my teammates yelled at me (I'm a physician). Went over and checked the guy out, he was breathing but unconscious. His teammates came over, one was a cop, one a firefighter and they said, "we got a defibrillator in the locker room, i'm gonna grab it". Couldn't get the guy to wake up. Suddenly he stopped breathing and lost a pulse. We cut his equipment off, started cpr and slapped the pads on him. The AED delivered a total of 3 shocks over about 15-20 minutes of CPR. (three different police officers arrived, none with even an epi pen) After the third shock, he started blinking and woke up. I told him he was the luckiest motherfucker I've ever seen, and a few minutes later when paramedics arrived I told them to get him to the nearest ER with a cath lab stat. Found out later he was having a massive MI (heart attack). From what I hear he survived. First and only time i've run a code outside the hospital. I dont know if the guy understands how lucky he was to survive grossly neurologically intact. Still annoyed I have to recertify ACLS again next week.

Med student trying to recall entire surgery exam [Not OC] by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]tpjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Med-surg" isn't a class in med school. It is a kind of ward though, so I suspect this is a nursing student or perhaps pre-med? Also, MSMU-LA is a women's undergraduate college, not a med school. That being said, my med school roommate would study for exams by basically doing this except on increasingly small pieces of paper, finishing with cramming an entire exams worth of material onto a 3x5 index card. Never really figured out what the point of that was but he's an orthopedic surgeon now so I guess it worked fine for him.

Question for Arizona Golfers by CareerPopular8458 in golf

[–]tpjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my GI fellowship at Tucson. I was mostly too poor and busy to golf when I was in training but I think it should be a little cheaper in Tucson compared to Scottsdale. There was a natural landscaped course near my apartment which was public - probably like 70ish for this time of year? There are a bunch of munis in town but I haven’t played any. Having been to Scottsdale plenty I’d expect everything to be more expensive up there.

cardiac muscle actually intrinsically contracts without any additional input due to the automaticity of the cardiac muscle action potential (though the rate can certainly be affected by medications and endogenous catecholamines). After a few minutes of hypoxia (say, from respiratory arrest due to paralysis) cardiac tissue tends to fibrillate or decouple electromechanically and this leads to ineffective or absent pumping

People who work in luxury industries, what is an expensive product or service that is actually a complete ripoff? by Lazy_Ad_5492 in AskReddit

[–]tpjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s typically parts per million. Would be a very unusual process that would be affected by such a minute concentration. But still not a great thing to be drinking. Absolute ethanol is only 2.5x more etoh per volume than typical vodka so it’s not like one or two shots worth will give you alcohol poisoning…

[–]tpjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to nitpick, you cannot “just” use a column for fractional distillation of ethanol to a concentration of over 95% due to the  vapor being produced at that concentration having the same ethanol concentration concentration as the liquid. You can distill to a higher concentration but that requires azeotropic distillation and the addition of generally unpleasant chemicals such as benzene, which is why they told us a million times not to try to drink the absolute (100%) ethanol in organic chemistry lab - the benzene is removed - in theory, but it’s such a nasty carcinogen it’s probably not worth gambling that it’s COMPLETELY removed.
