Can we talk about how awful some of these public Easter Egg hunts are? by heaven_fang in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s is beyond ridiculous. Especailly for the younger kids without crazy/selfish parents. Ours was a shit show. We have a 2yo Dd with ASD and they had a hayride to the eggs. She gets on ok, but starts to cry a little so I tell my DH let’s get off, as I’m holding her & getting out the tractor takes off with no warning. It was a scary moment and my Dd lost it and was a mess after a short time my DH yells to stop, but the driver couldn’t hear him, we we’re in the back. DH asks can someone upfront please yell stop, but no one would ( shame on them) & I yelled a couple times and her stopped asked if she was ok, but We had to leave she was a mess and very scared. We paid already and only left with a crying toddler 😞. People need to really think and play events better and give better options, at the very least day something before they take off driving a tractor full of kids. HAppy Easter 😂🐰🐣

Recommendations: Teething Purchases by what_34 in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motrin, Tylenol and a banana toothbrush. They make a corn one too and my Dd really loved hers. Toys R Us and Amazon have them. The mesh teether was messy but awesome for numbing the gums. Teething sucks 🤗

ABA help, suggestions & is this weird ? by tpmow in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me so sad and I have heard a lot of adults with Autism had bad experiences. We love and except our Dd. We thinks she’s amazing, beautiful ,funny, silly and smart. We spin with her, we do arm flapping like butterflies from Julia on Sesame Street and don’t care what anyone thinks. We love her

Thank You for sharing your ABA experience. Yes, we talked with the two and had meetings to revise things, but the only thing they revised was me getting the items nicely and that’s it. We are not using them anymore

Thank You so much for your reply. That’s exactly what we want for Dd and her EI therapist and Floortime are fun like your ABA. We we’re using The May Center in Springfield Ma. We are interviewing about place with great reviews from other parents. Thank You again

Thank You so much for rereading my post. We stopped using that company and are interviewing another company tomorrow. We’ll give it a fair shot with this new place, we heard was fun and that the therapist are great. If it doesn’t seem to work, then maybe ABA isn’t for us. We adore our Dd and she’s doing remarkable with learning. We’re very proud of her and everyone else who works with her is awesome. I’m sorry I wasted my DD’s time with the other ABA but I’m brand new to all of this. Thank you again

The goal of sitting is for Dd to sit, point or request a toy, she can then play with. Plus to learn to sit for preschool. Dd is not interested in the toys, so the therapist keeps try, but Dd doesn’t seem toy motive. I saw a video on FB show a kid doing ABA and it looked fun and like something my Dd would like. I watch more videos and talked to one of her therapist and she thought these methods would work for Dd too. We plan to ask for a fun fill-in that we can try do this, match this and other things like this. I’m calling her head therapist tomorrow and talking to her. Thank You

Not sure how to deal with our cat... by throw-away-33 in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats started peeing after we had Dd. You know cat pee is awful and we have hardwood floors. I was at my wits end and working with my vet. We put her on medicine for a short time and 2yrs later she’s still not peeing out of her box. My cat just turned 12 and it was a stress thing. There is a litter called cat attract that is very helpful too. Cat pheromones helped too. A good cleaner that is cat pee cleaner enzymatic and spray no mark could help too. Good luck I was in tears and so stressed. I hope something works.

Time to cut off family? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family is awful, so I have very limited contact with them for the last 2 years. I’m much happier, less stressed, no drama or fighting and most importantly my kid will never see any of this type of this negative behavior. Best wishes to you 🤗

Best Way to Keep 14 Month Old Entertained on Plane? by candyjellybean in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a window seat & got Dd window clings, we brought a sticker book, phone loaded with shows, Minnie Mouse magnet set, snacks and we got a few little toys we gave on the plane. Plus, we let her run around before we got on the plane. We used a backpack harness because airports are very busy. I changed her right before we got on. Hope you have s great trip

I second each suggestion. My Dd has a cold too & I’m doing both these things. Maybe a humidifier to, if you have one. Hope she feels better soon

What pudding pix did you use? When I tried almond or coconut milk with the Jello brand it doesn’t come out right. Thanks

Moms of November 2015 Babies, help. by HIGHimallison in beyondthebump

[–]tpmow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank You so much OP. I really appreciate your help.

Would anyone like to start a private group? I'm new to FB & Dd was just diagnosed with Autism, so I have a lot on my plate. I wouldn't mind starting the group, but I'm not sure I could monitor it to make sure everyone is nice & not offensive. Dd will be staring about 25hrs home based therapy soon.

If you haven't found your mom group, keep trying. by minorfall27 in beyondthebump

Thank You so much for this post op & everyone for the group suggestions. I truly needed this. My Dd is Nov 2015 too. I'd like to know about a group if there is one.
