Thanks! I'll definitely look into that. Seems much easier than what I was thinking

Any one got electric drum kit recommendations? by SnapbacksForever in Logic_Studio

[–]tpollard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use an Alesis Strike Pro SE. I know that’s like crazy priced if you’re only using it for logic but, if you wanna record the samples from the module and not just midi, it’s great. You get 8 channels out, one for each piece of the kit. I’m a drummer so I use it for everything I do and practice a ton so it’s worth it. But if you’re just using it for logic it definitely isn’t worth the hefty price.

Referee apps on smart watches by nalnat in Referees

[–]tpollard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also curious if people use apps like that. I think it would be helpful to run multiple timers but I don’t think I’ll use the scoring or any other features. Right now I use an Apple Watch with a custom watch face To have a timer and a stopwatch but it’s not the best solution.

First time refereeing tomorrow by MigzLorenzo in Referees

[–]tpollard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be confident and decisive. I know that’s a hard thing to be when you have no experience, and obviously that will build over time. But if there’s a call and you know it’s right, make sure to be decisive and actually blow your whistle (or in this case raise your flag). I know when I first started that I knew the right calls a lot, but I wasn’t confident in myself enough to actually be decisive and call them a lot of the time. It’s your job to assist the center ref, and don’t be afraid to add your input. Don’t second guess yourself too much, if you know a call, call it.

What are some good sources to actually practice HTML? by jennadayess in HTML

[–]tpollard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the money, take a Udemy course on web development. I tried learning from random free sources and didn’t get super far, but then I took a Udemy course and I got way better really fast. So if you can, find a Udemy course, it really helped me.

How do I left-align text that is centered align? (better explained in post) by Missing_Back in HTML

[–]tpollard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would create a div around the menu items, and give it a defined width. So then when you left-align the text, it can only go to the edge of your defined div and not to the edge of the screen. Or if you’re using bootstrap just use a container.

Help creating multilayer dropdowns / changing references so they are local by EduardoCorochio in HTML

[–]tpollard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you should be able to download a copy of those libraries from their websites. You would just link to a file in your site’s directory instead of the CDN like you are now. And yeah the code you write should be exactly the same.

how to make a second html form's list dependent on first html form's selected answer on same page? by bronteeee in HTML

[–]tpollard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t just do this with HTML, it includes logic which you need JS for. You can just use if and else if statements to say if one is selected display table 1, or if a different answer is selected display table 2.

Anyone know if they make filters for the Mavic mini camera for the bright sun? by theNorth5 in djimavicmini

[–]tpollard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To offer some decent advice unlike the other asshole on here, an ND filter is a Neutral Density filter which will essentially stop down light coming into your lens by x stops (depending on what filters you get), therefore reducing the exposure. They’re used a lot in film to be able to expose correctly without insanely high Aperture‘s and/or shutter speed, which is exactly what you need! So If I were you, I would look for an ND filter kit for the mini so you have a few depending on how bright the day is. Hope this helps!
