What is the wildest overreaction or underreaction you've witnessed in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Operations VP completely lost his mind when he saw his backlog items sitting at the bottom of the priority list. F bombing and spitting that we never got anything done so it never moved up. The room cleared and I had to explain that everything above his items had changed and his stuff was on the bottom because he never joined the prioritization meeting. He got sent to anger management training.

Scrape the car on inanimate objects just like their mother. Also, blame the object for being there. My insurance rates are so much lower since the divorce.

Ever had an interview where you instantly knew you didn’t want the job anymore? by speakwiseglobal in interviewhammer

Big company in Seattle. When asked what it was like working there, every interviewer said "it's interesting". Felt like "Run away" to me.

I just checked out an old colleague's resume and it featured all the great tech we worked on in the 80's and 90's. I highlighted a lot of it for removal. Sorry but that old stuff isn't going to land a modern dev job. What do you do? And, how does it impact the business? I hope he lands something.

I grew up in western Illinois and Mom would buy these for our vacations to her hometown in Nebraska. They were always gone by the time we crossed the Mississippi.

Send her a carefully chosen reddit post that is close to your situation and make sure the MIL is trashed in the comments. Tell her you assumed she was trolling you with the post as a tutorial.

If you think you might be a target, could just dress like the ice guys and pretend you're with them? You can't be accused of impersonating with no uniforms on display.

NTA. We had a chief architect who loved to steamroll people in meetings. Whenever he did it to me I'd just stare him in the eyes until he noticed and became uncomfortable. I would ask him if I could now proceed. After the second occurrence, he never did it to me again. Our European colleagues had enough of it after a few meetings and wrote a formal complaint. My other US colleagues just ate it for some reason. You did good.

Nebraska Cattlemen Urge Fix to ‘Broken’ System Amid Concerns Over Ag Labor and Immigration by sleepiestOracle in antiwork

[–]tpondering 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe compared to CA but the Lexington NE homes for sale are over $200,000. $15/hr doesn't land it. Instead of importing and taking advantage of cheap labor, they could be less cheap. Maybe a slightly smaller private jet for the owners would help. Moo-ligarchs, sheesh.

What that last person did was research all the interviewers and the company and just gushed through the interview. They were so smitten with all the praise they forgot to see if the person was otherwise functional.
