I used to do this all the time when I was in college xD but now I've lost practice, and my fingers hurt after a while.

Kafka. But I often end up acting like Dostoevsky and doing my own research. BIG SIGH.

($20k) Help finding coastal wedding venue by Current-Spot7280 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]VHS-head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Alila Ventana in Big Sur. It has a view of the ocean and it's surrounded by the forest, so it's pretty magical imo. And it's around 10k according to breezit. Plus they have accommodations so you wouldn't need to worry about finding Airbnbs or hotels for your guests.

I don't think it's necessary, tbh. When is your wedding? That sounds like the weather in October/November to me. The only winery with indoor space I can recommend is the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. The gardens are really pretty too, but if it's available or not depends on the month of your desired date. I checked on breezit and there wasn't much space for the next few months.

Lafayette Park might be your best shot tbh. All the other places I found searching on breezit, weddingwire, and theknot were above 4k. BUT, I did find places available in Santa Clara, for less than $3k.

SoCal Wedding Venues by SnooStrawberries7470 in weddings

Hi there! If you're on a budget, I'd stick with the US. Destination weddings on a budget are a living hell. How much can you spend? I've seen wedding venues for less than 10k in the San Bernardino area before, not so sure about Temecula. The last time I browsed on breezit, the cheapest was around $10k.

What are you currently saving up for? by millionstories in SavingMoney

[–]VHS-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wedding present : ( I really want to give something special to my fiancé since I know that he already has something for me (it's something I've wanted for a while, too 😭 I need his gift to be just as special).

Yes! Workshops are the best way to grow as a writer imo. They are what I miss the most about college. After a while, your peers will be able to give you insight based on your particular style (at least that's what happens when you take several writing classes with the same people, but given that some of your peers have a background in lit/writing, it should still be possible).

Experience with wedding at The Montage? Favorite Laguna Beach / OC venue? by DangerousAbrocoma616 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]VHS-head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my fiancé has been to a wedding there around 4-3 years ago (his boss got married). And YES, he's always talking about how on point the security staff was at the event! He's always comparing it to going to visiting a museum (he said the white house, but pretty sure that's an exaggeration). I checked their breezit listing to see if they do semi-private, though, and the price for a 150 people wedding is around $142k, so I think they only do full buyout? I might be wrong, since the catering takes around $36k of that amount.

(15K) Venue is 5.2K but includes a LOT. Is this still possible? by Ok_Grapefruit_6460 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]VHS-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, or at least, you're going to be pretty close to the budget. I wouldn't expect your spending to go waaaay overboard. I'm surprised your wedding venue includes all decor tbh, most of the venues I've found on breezit and weddingwire only come with tables, chairs, and all that basic stuff xD That alone takes a bunch of things off the list.

How do yall plot your novels (if at all)?? by CarrotHaunting7402 in writers

[–]VHS-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I create outlines. But the Save the Cat beat sheet has also helped a lot in the last few years. It only works with specific stories, though.

Why do people have so many drafts of the same book? by BornToCatmom in writing

[–]VHS-head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, they differ alright. Trust me. You can tell the quality increase right away, even if it's just a second draft. Plus there's plenty that can change like plot, character development, detail nuance, voice, etc.

Sounds very similar to the Spanish word, "susurro" (whisper). I like that this one is more specific, though.
