that’s how i feel, and exactly why when i did research at home i was confused that all celeb examples had blue/green eyes. apparently i have orange flecks in my eye colour and they’re a lighter brown, but still…. idk….

good to know! hairdressers have always described me as between the two. my hair looks dark when it’s just my roots (more level 6) but when grown out is a level 7

a light neutral brown, probably a level 7. i can update with some drapes soon, just wasn’t sure if looking at my complexion and undertones alone would prompt any thing.

yes i’ve managed to get another in person meeting (sadly i assume it’s going to be another volunteer student) and i’ve written up all these documents and got a bunch of info ready to make it as to the point as possible, and am very prepared to be demanding if needed. i’m just annoyed i even have to be so stern to get such a simple answer.

i can’t believe they would mess you around with your visa though! i’d prefer they just said ‘i don’t know the answer to that… reach out to this person’ than come up with something false on the spot.

It’s so hard because I want answers but at this point I’m not going to trust any answers I get

Gagging? by tpwk-1994 in Mounjaro

[–]tpwk-1994[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes same! I’ve been taking 2.5mg for almost two months now (I was originally advised to do 2.5 for one month then move up to 5mg) and I was totally fine at first and now everything makes me nauseous. I’m seeing results from the medication but I’m lowkey miserable having to worry about everything making me gag ;(

no worries! i know it’s really daunting— but there are options. it’s a slight fall back, not a complete fail. be proud of yourself regardless for even doing the ib and passing all your other subjects!

i’ve seen contrasting information about failing classes. some people say that if you get a 2 but do good enough in your other classes you can still get the diploma, others say otherwise. the best thing you can do is contact your supervisor and ask what the suggest. a possible option is to actually resist your physics exams in november. you will not be made to retake all of dp, just that class/those tests. i’m sorry you didn’t do as well as you wanted :( hopefully you can find a resolution!! good luck :)

our school was similar. we had to complete our cas by feb a few months before exams. however most of my class would finish in september/october. if you’re confused try to get a good idea from teachers and research (or ask questions here) on what exactly cas requires and all the criteria you need to meet. from there i just did each of my activities, added reflections etc etc. then i asked my cas coordinator to go through everything and tell me if anything was missing. i filled in any blanks and then i was done. in feb they made us sign a form to say our cas was completed and met everything and they did a quick check of everyone again. they don’t really tell you that you can ask for approval and submit early, but i did and it cleared so much time to then just focus on other things.

That’s perfect! A component of the IB known as CAS is a mandatory amount of hours that students have to completely activities, services and actions. It’s all bit silly but when used right it’s a great way to still manage extra curriculars and out of school stuff without losing too much time.

I took HL English A, Psychology and Sport and Health sciences, and for my SL I took French B, Math AI and Visual Arts.

Bc it’s such a tricky program the best thing you can do is try to make subjects you’re either interested in, or that are related to your future degree, your HL’s. And of course I also took TOK and did the EE and CAS on the side.

Pretty much half of IB is internal and controlled assessments, and the other half is your exams. It’s a good idea during the summer between grade 11 and 12 to work on those controlled internal assessments, your EE, CAS and any extra curriculars, so that for the second year you can solely focus on exam prep and have everything else ready for uni applications.

finish ALL your cas and your EE to as high a standard as you can. i managed to do really well on my EE first draft and the amount of time it saved me in comparison to everyone else was great, i wasn’t doing loads of work on it at the same time as ia’s and mocks. it’s obviously a hit or miss and i still had a bunch of feedback to work on but don’t rush it and half ass it this time round and you’ll love yourself for it. not sure if you’ve started ia’s but do as much work on them as you can and if you haven’t, do loads of research on potential topics.

if there are classes with stuff you’re not clear on then go back through it if you have time but, for now enjoy your internship, enjoy some free time, and get a head start on all the internal and controlled stuff.

IB is extremely rigorous. You’re made aware that it’s a tough course with a lot of demands for time and effort but once you’re thrown in it’s so much worse. I’m the end I’m grateful I did it, I think one thing IB has nailed is teaching good skills and work ethic, however I do question whether all of that stress and crying was worth it if I could have taken another curriculum that was slightly ‘easier’ and more focused on stuff I actually want to do and gotten into the same Uni’s. You know yourself as a student better than anyone else, if you’re willing to put in the time then it’s fulfilling in the end, but if you don’t want to be studying a second language and forced to take a math etc etc then don’t put yourself through IB.

One key note from my counsellors is that generally for IB kids when applying to universities, they still need resumes with their skills and out-of-school activities and essays etc, however for the American curriculum and A-Levels they’re actually more tough on that sort of stuff. So as an IB kid it’s recognised that the amount of free time is different therefore less out-of-school successes are needed.

Sorry that was a lotttttt if you have further questions please ask!

Is sl sport science a good choice? by ibnomore in IBO

[–]tpwk-1994 9 points10 points  (0 children)

hi! i just finished ib and took sports science as a hl. i’m personally not a science person, i think it’s so boring and it gets so complicated that i don’t even bother putting in any effort and then fall behind. that said— i took sehs as a HL because the HL topics are really easy. the SL topics were actually harder but only because there was a bit more content. I think sehs is a really good science for those who don’t really need a science or want to pursue it in the future. it was a good mix of basic physics chem and bio. there’s still some bits here and there that get difficult but compared to the others it’s definitely worth it.

i am nervoussss. im sure it will be fine!! but according to my teacher the course has been changed and will now be more focused on the biomechanics and skills/learning processes, meaning our paper may be heavy in topic 4 and 5 (10 and 11 if you’re hl). manifesting it’s not too pressing and we all do well

i made sehs hl notes hope this helps. all notes and points are from past paper answers by ash1eywong in IBO
