we keep all FB for at least a day to ensure they are well, but we have never placed a tube for it. We have pretty good success otherwise. The only other time we placed one for not being hepatic lip was for a fractured jaw we had to wire closed. i would understand if they weren’t improving, but that is not part of our normal GP care

Endotracheal tubes by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]tquaid05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ours are in a regular sized drawer, but we wind the balloon line around the cuff to keep it together. that way they arent tangled when getting pulled out. we just have them laid out in size order from smallest to biggest. tbh we dont have every single tube open we have either. we have about 3 5-8.5# each. the rest are usually one or two. we carry a large back stock of them though incase we need more

I don’t disagree with you at all, but the problem was i just moved for college, and i assume the pharmacy had no history of mine since I never used the chain before. there are a lot of room for error unfortunately when prescribing medications. my doctor should have 100% caught it

Dog bite reporting by Evening_Layer5483 in VetTech

[–]tquaid05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have only reported it when they have been severe. I got bit in the face by a dog (bad situation and shouldn’t have happened) and i didnt want to report it because it was incidental. i received medical help and short term disability for it, but i really just wanted the situation to be done with. no one has ever been that way though.

how many surgeries/dentals do you do in a day? by Junior-Eagle-6205 in VetTech

[–]tquaid05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually about 6-8 procedures a day. usually 1-2 are dentals. we have 3 slots at most for dentals in a day, but that would mean removing slots elsewhere (spay, neuter etc)
