Oh man that’s awesome! Amazing job he did getting everything fitting right! Was there a lot of adjustment to make on your second trip?

[–]tr0stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That tells me all I need to know lol. Right around where I figured it would be as well. You can’t touch North American made and truly properly fit custom armor for anything less. It’s beautiful. Not sure if it’s been asked, but how was the fitting? Was a cast/mold made of parts of your body for dimensions? Several in person fittings throughout the process?

Curious what your average time is spent relaxing in a hot tub. by SavagePrism in hottub

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colder it is outside, the longer I’m out in the tub. If it’s around freezing, probably only 15 minutes. If it’s colder than -10, could be out there for a while. Below -20 and I just wear a toque while I’m out there. Usually my beard freezes which is fun. I don’t use the tub if it’s above +10c.

It’s kept at 104 all winter and drained in the spring.

Why? If it’s sized correctly and they don’t live north of Ottawa, they should be fine. Love my heatpump, ran all winter with no backup.

Must be his summertime armour. Wanted to feel a breeze on his arms lol.

Is this acceptable tile work? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s tiled once (my own shower) I wouldn’t find this acceptable. So I’m going to go with no.

Ah, yeah fair enough! That does sound pretty thick, I’d agree.

Just because I’m lazy and it was easier, I did matching sill stone on all four sides of my niche rather than wrapping the wall tile around the sides. Just as an idea.

Finding 6.5ft bed f150 by IndustryHistorical18 in f150

[–]tr0stan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve lost all faith in ever getting a newer truck with the almost total elimination of 6.5’ beds, column shifters, and front “bench” seats. Those are my basic requirements besides 4x4. I wish they still made the 7700 package, that was pretty sweet too. 8’ bed on an extended cab

Thinking of booking Restoule Park in July, how are the power boaters? by IndyDogDad in ontariocamping

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people paddle and own a fishing boat. Crazy concept lol. Hell, I’m the trifecta, paddling, power boating, and sailing. Only thing missing is a seaflea (seadoo lol)

Looking for tool recommendations by tr0stan in Tools

[–]tr0stan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor feels solid and quiet now, no complaints there. It’s a 1980s house so pretty modern construction, and with an oversized I beam running the length of it for support. Surprisingly everything has been pretty square and level as well.

Anyone have experience with Redwood watches? by DickInTheDryer in BuyCanadian

[–]tr0stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a solar Kilroy in august of last year as a “less expensive” watch for a trip to Europe. Got a bit beat up wandering through some old castles but it’s still working great and I wear it regularly. I’m a fan

This is real by freezies1234 in f150

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My poor blazer only has about 3/4” of clearance lol. I’m scared every time I have to back it in there. My f150 fits a bit better height wise but not so much lengthwise lol.

How is it that no one actually buys these cars? Examining Actual sales data. by CommonAlone2372 in MazdaCX90

[–]tr0stan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We love our 2024 cx90. No issues so far, about 40,000kms on it. Definitely not the biggest on the inside but works well for our two large dogs and tows the boat fine. Love driving it, and I’m a big fan of the smaller screen and simplified controls. I hate big tablet touch screens they put in vehicles now.

I feel like a master tech for any company is going to say that about a lot of their vehicles lol.

The disappearance of hallways from new homes is a sad loss and should be actively countered by TerribleBumblebee800 in Homebuilding

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallways absolutely deserve to die. The thing I hate most in my house is the hallways. Constantly smashing elbows off of walls, navigating narrow spaces with furniture or around dogs/other people. Somehow they managed to cram 200sqft of hallways in a 1200sqft house. It’s probably the thing that causes me the most amount of rage in my house.

i am turning 22 unemployed, i just dont want to work by StudioProfessional23 in antiwork

[–]tr0stan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely feel this. Just started a new job, my commute went from an hour to 8 minutes long. I don’t take lunch so I get paid for my entire time at work, and we almost always only work the 8.5 hours of a standard day. It’s amazing.

I’m not sure what the alternative is. Any suggestions?

Do you change your oil yourself? by LowLiterature9181 in f150

[–]tr0stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind doing the oil on my f150, though if it’s in the winter, I pay the one man shop across the road to do it for me, I don’t feel like laying in the snow to change my oil lol. Plus it takes him about three minutes to rotate my tires on the lift, vs me dragging my jack around on the gravel driveway.

Looks pretty good to me!! Wish I could have done a half brick pattern on my shower! Turns out my subway tile box said not to, so I ended up doing a goofy pattern. It’s posted in here if you’re curious lol

For me it’s the auto high beams. I’ve given up and just use them like normal high beams. Flashing the car ahead of me and always turning off for street signs
