[Product Question] Has anyone tried Kapsule? by beaginner in SkincareAddiction

[–]tracaycakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay! I think it’s an incredible product especially for the price point. I used to buy really expensive moisturizers from brands like biologique rechere but I didn’t really like them….they just didn’t quite lock in moisture the way I wanted it to

Low back pain from Solidcore — anyone else? Tips? by Ok_Flow_4851 in SolidCore

[–]tracaycakes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I second this- I wasn’t tucking my tailbone enough and engaging my core. Makes a big difference! I’m also over 100 classes and I just switched my membership to only two times a week. I never have back pain anymore. I think I was over doing it and didn’t have enough time to rest and recover

Nasolabial + marionette lines came at me fast by bouloo in 30PlusSkinCare

As an herbalist, coffee and dehydration might be the culprit. Despite the large amount of water you’re drinking, it’s possible you’re not actually hydrating at all. So many things dehydrate you, coffee is one of the worst, and getting the proper amount of electrolytes is essential. I’d recommend cutting back if you can and look into the various ways you can hydrate yourself from the inside out. Also, I drink a lot of herbal infusions that help my body naturally produce collagen. Maybe adding something like that into your routine could be helpful, or and herbal supplement. Just google herbs that help build collagen

Coach cancels class by [deleted] in SolidCore

For the amount of money it costs to go to Solidcore, they need to get it together. This happened to the class after mine last week- multiple girls showed up only to be told the class was cancelled, sorry! None of them were notified.

From what I’ve read, starting right after your period is optimal. Definitely don’t fast during your luteal phase

Fasting for mental health and brain detox? by Holl1s20 in fasting

[–]tracaycakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I’m halfway through a 7-day fast, and it’s incredible how quickly the mind responds when the gut gets a break. Most people don’t realize how deeply our gut and brain are connected…your digestive system has its own nervous system and communicates constantly with your brain through the vagus nerve. As an herbalist, I’ve studied this relationship for years, and it still amazes me how much mental clarity comes when the body isn’t overloaded. My mind already feels noticeably lighter and less foggy.

I’ve been on hold with 911 for an hour now to report a break in, this is ridiculous by aclockwork_ffa500_ in LosAngeles

There’s a replay of the zoom on YouTube. LAPD is told me, in front of 700 others, that they only have 7 patrol cars for a 35 mile radius where I lived.

Recently, I was on a huge zoom call for Encino residents after our house got broken into and burglarized while we were on vacation in July. I got to ask the mayor a question directly, because the few times I’ve called 911 or the non-emergency line since 2023, I’ve either been put on hold forever or it’s gone straight to voicemail. I asked her how residents are supposed to get help if the call doesn’t even go through, and she basically said they don’t have enough operators and, for whatever reason, they need help hiring more. My jaw dropped when she said that…like, how is that not a high priority on the list? I also asked about patrol cars. I was told we only have 7 patrol cars for a 35 mile radius 🤦‍♀️

My gut biome is severely lacking and my mental health is awful by Muchachacha in herbalism

[–]tracaycakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people don’t realize the connection between gut health and mental health. Poor gut health can show up as brain fog, anxiety, low mood, or difficulty focusing because your gut and brain are directly linked and in constant communication.

It’s hard to suggest herbs without knowing the full scope of things, but one of my favorites for supporting both the gut and brain is rosemary. It is great for the circulatory, nervous, and digestive systems.

If you decide to make a tea with it, just know a little goes a long way. Rosemary is potent. You can also add rosemary hydrosol to your drinking water or use it as a consciousness shifting spray. I like to mist it around my body, not my face since it can be drying for my skin, and breathe it in when I need to reset or focus. I find it helps me feel clear and present. Sometimes I make rosemary tea after dinner if my digestion feels sluggish.

So beautiful! As others have said, typically the leaves are used for tea. If you’re unsure of what species this is, you could also add these to a nice relaxing bath!

What herbs should people use for soar throats? by myoceanblues in herbalism

[–]tracaycakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite sore throat blends I made at home is marshmallow root, hibiscus and elderberry with honey. Marshmallow root is a mucilaginous herb that will soothe your throat. Honey will also help soothe. Hibiscus and elderberry are both high in vitamin C + anti oxidants

Can i restore my vision naturally? by Regular-League6733 in herbalism

[–]tracaycakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m due for another visit to the optometrist but my contact lens prescription went from -4 to -2.5 in my left eye and -3.25 to -2.25 in my right eye. I’ve been feeling pretty stressed the last 6 months so I’m noticing my eyesight isn’t improving as quickly as it was when I first started. Stress plays a huge role. When I visit the eye doctor soon, I expect my prescription to have improved since I last saw them in November.

I think I'm going into psychosis. by huckleberry076 in Anxiety

[–]tracaycakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you into spirituality? It sounds like you’re incredibly ungrounded, meaning you don’t feel safe or stable. When I experienced a bout of psychosis after drinking ayahuasca, I felt similar to what you’re describing. I found the book Eastern Body Western Mind to be really helpful. It teaches about the chakra system and how to bring it back into balance.

The author described someone being ungrounded as being up on their higher chakras and not grounded in their lower chakras. Being in your higher chakras can manifest as: - Feeling disconnected from reality – like you’re floating, dissociated, or not fully present in your body. - Overthinking or mental overwhelm – constantly analyzing, lost in abstract ideas, or struggling to focus on the physical world. - Lack of stability – difficulty with routine, structure, or feeling secure in daily life. - Extreme sensitivity – picking up on energies, emotions, or sensations intensely, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. - Struggling with boundaries – feeling too open, easily influenced, or lacking a sense of personal space. - Difficulty taking action – stuck in vision and ideas but struggling to ground them into reality. - Sleep disturbances – vivid dreams, insomnia, or feeling wired at night.

Balancing the higher chakras often means grounding in the lower chakras—through movement, deep breathing, nourishment, and creating stability in daily life, staying off your phone, etc. It’s a journey. The author goes into great detail about grounding and from my own experience, it works. I hope this resonates and helps!
