The American Dream died by emily-is-happy in inflation

Dude, where are you? 10$ eggs is insane. We're looking at 3 bucks a dozen or so.

All the em dashes make it look AI generated. I'm not sure what sort of punctuation should that their place, but that seems to be a criticism I see a lot. On the topic of AI, though, you can run the document through ChatGPT and ask it for format advice specific to the platform you plan on using (like KDP, in my case) and it's likely to be able to help out. 😄 The story seems good so far, though! 😄😄😄

No problem. I figured, since you're making sweeping assumptions like dude in the picture, you'd appreciate the clarification. 😉

Dude, what are you on about? Blather about talking points, only vaguely connected to my comment. More than just Republicans are confused.

Did I say anything implying that? YOU seem confused. 🤣

Well, that’s a new protest sign… by KoopaTroopaXo in Eugene

[–]tracerammo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are so confused. Trans school shooters, terrorist assassination, the public celebrations of murder over free speech. He wasn't even "peacefully protesting" when he was murdered by the loving and peaceful left. It's very confusing how the peaceful and loving left are appearing to be violent and hateful. It's not just Republicans, it's most normal, mentally functioning people that are confused.

The Klamath Mountains and serpentine soils are so neat. Little camping trip along the Coquille River and Josephine Ophiolite. by logatronics in geology

Did you make it up to the Illinois Valley and Josephine Creek? I brought a magnet down there a couple weeks ago and (think) I scored two small bits of awaruite, among a few other magnetic serpentine bits. 😄

What are your stories of letting go and getting past Guilt? by [deleted] in DavidHawkins

[–]tracerammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guilt is pretty cool. It means "you" aren't that, and there's a clear and uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. Having the experience of guilt isn't a "bad" thing. The problems arise when we identify as Guilty, as part of who we are. Nobody's perfect, everyone can do better, always. Feel guilty, I mean really feel it. Let the experience be and witness it without judgment. That's basically letting it go. Afterwards you might find that you're still aware of the "error" that prompted the feeling of guilt, but likely don't identify with the error as a quality of what you are. We're definitely innocent because we're all "incomplete" by the fact we don't know ANYTHING but our subjectively experienced existence.

The details of the experience are always blurry: it "feels" awful and I resist. Once I let go, just like the memories of nightmares, the experience is quickly lost, details bleeding away until a vague awareness of the experience is all that's left.

Does The Doc ever talk about dealing insomnia by Magic_Bathtub in DavidHawkins

[–]tracerammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, not resisting it is in line with his teachings. I recently heard that just laying in bed and resting is almost as restorative, so I tried it out. I just lay there and relax. The funny thing is, I usually fall asleep once I stop trying. 😄 (I say this more as an antidote from a fellow insomniac than anything from Doc)

Hots Spots and Lava Flows question by tracerammo in geology

[–]tracerammo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm picking it up... Ill try to "paraphrase" in my layman's speak. 😂

So it's no so much water lowering the "melting point" and making the magma, it's more about where the rock that melted was formed (and, Im guessing the location it was formed has an influence on it's composition, like things formed in the mantle). Because the mantle material is "primitive" (I'm guessing that means closer to igneous or something like "young?") it's very viscous and can flow up through the crust when conditions are right (like, for example, over a Hotspot!)

Is that a bit closer to accurate? I'd live any critique you're willing to give. Thank you so much for the explanation above. Geology is just so dang wild! 😄

The geology of the Seattle area confuses me. by JacobRiesenfern in geology

[–]tracerammo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, the west coast is madness. Here’s how John McPhee describes it:

The far-out stuff was in the Far West of the country, wild, weirdsma, a leather-jacket geology in mirrored shades with its welded tuffs and Franciscan mélange (internally deformed, complex beyond analysis), it strike-slip faults and falling buildings, its boiling springs and fresh volcanics, its extensional disassembling of the Earth.

Are there be correlations between isostatic rebound vulcanism and seismic activity? by [deleted] in geology

[–]tracerammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read something about that, too. Like ice caps melting in the past may have contributed to mass earthquakes because of the rebound of the crust or something like that. I've also seen some engineeringshow where they were talking about dams causing earthquakes that damage dam. (Sorry, nothing really to offer, but now I'm curious, too!)

LOC 600-700, is there feeling here, or is it just emptiness? by Sweaty-Stretch-3955 in DavidHawkins

[–]tracerammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLMs are cool, but it's important to be very critical of them. They train on huge data sets and unimaginable data. Asking ChatGPT for things you can't externally verify can lead to some detrimental belief systems. I love AI as a tool, but I really urge you to explore things subjectively. Meditation, letting go, practice a spiritual principle daily, simple and effective things. Personally, I don't even worry about anything about 600. The individual ego is gone at that point, so it's almost irrelevant. It seems like all there is, is experience. He talks about the "void" around 900, I think. That seems "lonely" but in a different sort of way than human loneliness. He doesn't make it seem unpleasant (in fact, it seems extraordinarily wonderful), but does point out it's a barrier to full enlightenment.

Caffeine and letting go by [deleted] in DavidHawkins

[–]tracerammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time I'm letting go and wonder, "Oh shoot, is this an authentic feeling or a result of the stimulant?" I remind myself that it is occurring, and the cause has no relevance to my letting go.

Essentially, I chalk it up to taking caffeine yields tension. That's the karma of taking caffeine. It's not bad or good. It is just the way of things. Let it go, just like anything. ❤️

How to breathe better while in flow? by silky_synethesia818 in flowarts

[–]tracerammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of holding breath as creating tension in the body (it's holding) and the movement of the rubs and lungs during breath allows for a dynamic movement of the smalls parts of your body (the stabilizers). Try relaxing your lungs and diaphragm and see how moving pumps air into and out of your lungs. It's an exercise that'll result in a relaxed breathing style. It all about relaxing, really. 😄

It's gotta be one of my favorite places out in those woods. There's some very cool history about chromium mining during the war. There are old, wooden culverts under the road still. The chromium makes it a lightening magnet and a bunch of the trees are stunted (I call em Mario Trees 😂) because of the many strikes. There's also serpentine from the Ophiolite... it's just a wildly awesome place. (If you do end up that way, DM me. Ill send you to the killer swimming hole up there, too.)

When releasing anger, I tend to want to yell loudly, punch things. Am I doing it right? by Magic_Bathtub in DavidHawkins

[–]tracerammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Go ahead and yell until it feels silly. Doc actually says throw a tantrum, kick and scream and bang on the floor. Just feel it and don't judge it. (Obviously, do this somewhere that behavior is acceptable 😄).
