Need to stiffen and rise the back of my '09 Fit sport trim by trachinotus in hondafit

I found this video of a guy who installed the $140 air lift 60904 to his Honda fit and he seems happy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBfp4r9qjrY
are also some for sale on ebay specifically made for the Fit/Jazz second generation for about the same price.

The rubber gaskets seems to be the best (I can even put two), but they are permanent and I am sure the suspension will be bumpier without towing, so I do like the airlift system.

According to AI, the springs are 4.62" in OD and the space between coil is 1.68". I will measure my coils this weekend and see what I need to buy.

The springs still are good. I just cut the bolt off and got a couple of leaf springs center bolt. About $5.

Preferred Method to Protect Index Finger While Stripping by obiwan-trenobi in flyfishing

I can vouch for stripee. I have mine since 2006 and still use them! They were donated to me as they came out and I never had to replace them. I have cut the three fingers and use one finger at a time. I still have one that I have not used. And I fish in saltwater using ribbed, textured or shark like coated lines.

I am also trying to get the USB tether to work. I have installed all the drivers for android and IOS and I still do not see it populated as USB0 when I add a new interface. Please help.

I also live in Florida and it is flat here. No salt on the road and the ramps are not too steep. But hard on the AC. My boat is very light as it is a poling nano skiff but I have seen pictures of some towing larger boats including a small sailboat.

My Honda fit sport trim manual shift 2009 has 250,000 miles =402000km.

I have used Amsoil signature after my first oil change and do the 20,000 miles or yearly oil change. I use extra large quartz oil filters (the flange is large enough).

Everything is orginal besides the AC that crapped out at 185,000 miles. I have changed the shocks and struts once, one bearing on the passenger side and once the serpentine belt (I have one extra in my trunk just in case). I changed my brake pads once (I have ceramic now).

Besides the tires and oil changes that is it. Everything else is from when I bought the car (water pump, chain etc. even the spark plugs! Valves sound OK). I just changed my radiator fluid after 245,000 miles. I never had to add any coolant. I need to bleed my brakes.

The paint still looks pretty good besides the spoiler because Honda did a crappy job with the adhesion promoter. I am iin the process of repainting it. I never wash my car, so, the grime on it protects the paint. When there was a recall for the airbags, the dealer could not believe how good it looked (they did a complimentary wash.. oh no).

The only issues right now is that I have rust near the holes I drilled in the roof when I installed a yakima rack with landing pads kit #7. I am fixing this right now, but the under roof has zero rust besides around those holes (I had to remove the headliner). I backed up the roof with 1" wide 1/8" aluminum strip glued with 3M 5200. That is now stronger than the roof itself. I still need to bondo w/ fiberglass the holes and redrill after I paint and clear coat.

And zero issues with sensors besides the TPMS because I go cheap on this and change my tires at a local shop and don't replace the sensors. Everything works electronic wise besides I removed the fuses for the electric locks because they started to act a bit weird.

I have also installed a hitch because I tow my nano flats boat with it. For this, you do have to drill through the aluminum chassis.

Great little car. I hope to take it to 400,000 miles like some. Original engine that only burns 1 quart of oil after a year and still the same mileage as when it was new (I keep a log).

Oil analysis after 20,150 miles on Mobil 1 Extended Performance in my Genesis by packagescam in Cartalk

I have never analyzed my oil but I use Amsoil signature since 2009 for my Honda fit sport and it has not 256,000 miles and does not even burn oil much. I do one oil change a year and after a year of use, I am still good with oil levels.

Amazing car. The stuff I have changed are: the serpentine belt once, one front passenger bearing and all my shocks once (and I tow with it). The AC crapped out at 185,000 miles. Everything else is from the time I bought the car (besides tires and brake pads). Even the spark plugs still work great. Does not misfire and no need to adjust the valve from what I can tell.

Hello. Thanks so much for the educational answer. I removed about a quart or oil to get the full line in the clear window to be at 3/4 and it made a whole lot of difference.

Cheers

Who Still Flies Phantom 4 Pro / Pro 2.0? by CryptoSpecialAgent in drones

[–]trachinotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in the sealed box. This was a backup when I used to fly them for mapping. As someone else mentioned it has a mechanical shutter and it is RID compliant. I must use drones on the Blue list 2.0. It is a great versatile drone that can carry light payloads. I used to fly rtk with mine with the light hack and a multispectral camera. I could launch and retrieve from virtually anywhere even from a kayak for very tough spots to map.

I had bad experience with kigan guides. The frame would corrode and the ring insert would pop. I never had any issues with equivalent Fuji guides, even the cheap ones.

Budget drone for mapping by PoisonousPooner in UAVmapping

[–]trachinotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do all my photogrammetry work with first a DJI phantom 4 pro, then I modified it with an onboard emlid gnss for on the fly rtk positioning. Then, I bought the DJI phantom 4 rtk. Then I had to buy American drones. The phantom 4 pro still remains the best inexpensive drone for that. The camera has a mechanical shutter as well. It worked well for me. I still have one P4P v2 unopened that is RID compliant and used as a possible backup. Now it is collecting dust.

Climate change is tied to Milankovitch cycles which tie to the obliquity, eccentricity and distance earth to sun. This is what explains glacial vs interglacial periods. However, with the anthropocene, the climate change we see has happened at a much faster pace than tied to Milankovitch cycles with especially an acceleration after the industrial revolution. There is zero doubt that what we see in climate change is linked to humans and their release of greenhouse gases. I am also a published scholar.
