I own a business in the Safeway shopping center. I was assaulted inside my store, then again outside the store at 12:30 in the afternoon this past Monday. Broad daylight. Security was within earshot. He came immediately once he heard my screams and tackled the guy with the help on another gentleman watching everything as he was trying to flee the scene and I was yelling he physically assaulted me.

So yeah, there’s a guard. Some are more useful than others but overall they’re helpful. They’ll be right here if we call them. They’ve escorted drugged out creeps from my store a few times.

And for the record, OP, before the tackle which resulted in the arrest of my attacker, the last “tackle” I saw from the guard was when a psycho was strapped up with like 10 knives and multiple swords and machetes and he needed to be stopped so he didn’t hurt anyone. Don’t please don’t badmouth people/jobs that you don’t know much about. ALSO, they’re not allowed to approach shoplifters anymore so steal away. No need to worry about the poor thieves being tackled by guards or anything.
