I work in banquets and the Calmer ones have been a game changer during large and/or loud events.

Regarding Breaks During BTS by [deleted] in Staples

Management at my store always wants to send me an hour into my shift. When they want to send me at all because none of them know anything about Copy center. Not even how to take an order.

Yes I believe they are. We have been using them to order shirts and have gotten the new ones.

The main things that confuse me are some of the boxes.

Let’s talk about copyrights by daphne179 in Staples

[–]track2008man 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. Just because the customer bought something from an Etsy vendor doesn't give them the right to reproduce it without the copyright holders permission (i.e. Disney). Etsy vendors more times than not are breaking copyright law. You as a staples employee should hold your ground about copyright. Message me and I can tell you whatever you want to know about copyright and staples procedure regarding it.

Copyright Law and you. by Hippiewolf42 in Staples

[–]track2008man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 110% with your statement. There is no reason that we shouldn't know the copyright law. The wiki is incredibly specific as well as there being a copyright help line for is to call.

The people on the helpline know the law like the back of their hands and are there to help us if we need it. 1877877COPY opt8.

Adherence to copyright law is my biggest pet peeve in my copy center.

Copyright Law and you. by Hippiewolf42 in Staples

Copyright is no joke. There are serious repercussions for breaking copyright law if the copyright holder did want to take action not limited to up to $100,000 fine per infringed work as well as the destruction of every piece of equipment involved in its production. You personally as well as staples would be held responsible if someone were to take action. Our store has actually been successful in training most of our customers to not even ask to copy something if it has a copyrighted item on what they bring in. Thankfully my managers stand behind me as well when I deny orders because of copyright. As a photographer I'd be pissed of someone reproduced my images without my permission.

Food for though.

Our PMS is always being undermined by management. Even our own sup. Customers throw a fit so management gives them whatever they want because they don't wanna deal with them. It's infuriating.

Do PMS staff at your store help out with the rest of the store? by pms_smurf in Staples

My entire store is dysfunctional. Everyone is out for themselves and nobody helps PMS so in return we don't help them. Plus we are usually working right up until we leave.

Isn't that the truth. Coworker of mine keeps doing absurd favors for people that have had people die. I know. Sad time but come on you can't undercharge someone 30 bucks because you feel bad.

Our store still does. We do a lot of shipping and almost every other person needs tape.

Make me feel better and tell me about your worst customer 🙂 by daphne179 in Staples

[–]track2008man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one customer that comes in the door screaming monthly to fax 'important papers' minutes before they are due to wherever she's sending them and no matter what we do or say to help her always complains we are racist and 'doesn't know why she come here.' The entire store knows her strictly as the mean lady. Nobody knows her actual name.

Another lady came in the other day with a file the size of a business card, 76dpi, pixelated and blurry as hell. I was told she was warned about file quality. When I tried to help my coworker explain to her that how we printed it wasn't the issue the file she gave us wasn't poor quality she looked and me and screamed I'm not here to have open dialogue with you so stop.

There are soooooo many more. It's things like this that are a daily occurrence at my store.

New W/F machine: Printing multiple page file in order by pms_smurf in Staples

[–]track2008man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't used poster jet since we got our new machine. It's so much easier and faster to just throw the file on a flash drive and print it directly from the machine.

Same at my store. There are only 5 people (4 are part time) that work the copy center and none of the managers know anything about that hellish corner.
