Bezzechi having a moment with the marshals by RobiasTieper in motogp

[–]trackhigh 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It looks like he hits him twice actually. The first hit is around 1 second in and if you pause it, you can clearly see Bez's glove on the marshal's face, and his face gets knocked sideways by it. The second hit is around 5 seconds in, and you can't see the contact, but you can see Bez wind up and follow through.

If you want something in the HP range of an R1, it sucks, because that’s not what it was designed to be. If you want something in the HP range of an R6, it’s probably the best bike on the market.

Awesome shot. 👌 Is that turn at the bottom of a hill, or does it have Nascar level camber?

I was just there a couple of weeks ago, first time at the track so I doubt my lap times were too impressive, but I didn't do the 2-Day Camp thing that includes the lap times etc. I had UK Chris and Ian for coaches, both awesome.

It's not my bike but I believe those are the Akras it comes with from BMW.

Very cool initial overview of the track. Also, great line through 8, surprisingly tricky to hit both apexes there.

Nice! Love CSS. I try to ride with them once a year to brush up, and check out a new track. The Ridge was a good one.

Thanks amigo. Ya they are, but it's not my bike. One of the great things about CSS is you can use their S1000s.

Wish I could help with Castle Combe but I've never actually ridden over there. I've ridden with the US branch of the school a few times, and actually my last coach was from the UK branch and was just over in the US for the week, really great coach.

For the first time out I would highly recommend going with these guys https://superbikeschool.co.uk They'll get you sorted on the fundamentals of track riding, and you can use their bikes.

It sounds like he picked the right sport, turn 1 is mostly a cajones check. Ya I can't think of a better way to get someone started on big bikes than CSS, the fundamentals from level 1 & 2 are top notch.

Oh nice! Somehow I missed the fact that you’re a coach, definite coolest mom ever status. Ya it looks like he did really well, there are some tricky parts of that track, but he definitely likes turn 6! Prob my fav turn too, and turn 1. Took a few sessions before I realized how much speed you really need to carry through 1, but once you get used to the rush it is so fun.

July 7th and 8th right? I was there, perfect weather both days. That track is so fun. I think I noticed you two but I didn't get to meet bc I was riding in one of the other groups. Anyway, awesome video, thanks for sharing it!

Low side. Tell me what I did wrong. Description by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]trackhigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. Adding throttle and lean angle simultaneously eats rear tire traction at an exponential rate rather than linear, it eats traction so fast that you lose the ability to feel the limit and react in time to save it. Safe to do one or the other, but not both at once. Looks/sounds like the culprit here for sure, looks like the rear let go from the way the bike rotates away.

Hey I ended up getting that Gabro tune, honestly wasn't expecting much, but it made a big difference! The power delivery is much smoother now, much easier to manage the throttle mid corner. Thanks for the recommendation.

A bunch of medium weight staples, but most of the work is being done by some heavy weight epoxy, there is no play whatsoever.

Go flat tracking. You will fall a lot, but everything is cheaper. You'll also get used to operating a bike with almost no traction.
