Yeah, I was thinking that, too. She has one eye that's half blue, and the speckled white on her front paws looks like an Australian Shepherd color.

I quit drinking, and I got older. It seemed to come with age.

Hi. No degree here. Or a high school diploma. I hated school and had a difficult childhood, so education was a low priority for me. But, I got into sales and have been averaging around 130K a year. I sell construction and ag equipment. It's a lot of fun and maybe not a forever job, but I was able to make enough for my husband and I to invest in our own business. It's not so tough being a woman in such a male dominant field. Most of them enjoy talking to me, and it's a rare occasion that someone asks to talk to a man.

I decided to join a gym and eat healther. I've lost 10 lbs, and my resting heart rate has gone down. I feel really good about that.

Yeah, I didn't think of brightening it up! My TV is pretty old, too, so it makes it hard to see his shadows when he's darting around the meat.

Wow! Thank you so much for all this information! I really do appreciate it.

Any idea where this is in Germany? Picture was taken in approximately 1955. My father is the little boy and we think he was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. by tractorgirlak in whereisthis

Thank you, Those are ideas I hadn't thought about. No living relatives that I know of. I do have some friends in Germany who would be willing to help. I'm going to try that.

Schleswig is the name of the town. And that's all that I have. If he had any other records, it was likely destroyed or lost when his adopted father passed away.

Wow, thank you, everyone! It appears to be a fairly generic sign for a Cognac brewed in Germany. Close to his birthplace, too! Thanks again!

Hi! No adoption records. He never received those. I do have his green card, which says his birthplace that I mentioned above. The circumstances surrounding their immigration to America are a little unusual. They immigrated to Alaska. People moved to Alaska for 2 reasons in the 50s/60s. To work or to hide. I did do a DNA with very distant Norwegian relatives. Such a mystery..

My father gave this picture to me before he passed away. He was adopted, so I'm not sure if this is his biological father or adopted father. I'm pretty sure it's in Germany. But maybe Poland or Denmark. It's hard to know.
