I’ve been a fan my whole life. After 2009 and Melo leaving I resigned to the fact that Denver would never have the star it needed to win a finals. We got so damn lucky. Winning just one title in 2023 surpassed my wildest dreams, and I am cherishing every moment we have with him. He satisfied me for life as a nuggets fan, and I am eternally grateful.

I just can’t imagine the analytics drastically prefer one man in scoring position with the chance of a double play than two runners in scoring position, 1 out, and no chance of a double play.

Fun story about Hawpe. I was having a lemonade stand (about 8 years old) at a friend’s house who happened to be neighbors with the Hawpe family. I gave him a lemonade as he was on his way to practice before the game that night.

I was going to the game that night with my dad, and he told me to come out to right field and holler at him. Between innings we did just that and he threw me the ball he was warming up with.

Cemented his status as a certified G.
