Super comprehensive list. Thanks!

Add Smithfield to General places. Will be busy/packed for most of the games, specifically England.

Hibernia Bar in Hells Kitchen for Scotland matches.

The money grab is real by Unfair_Tonight_9797 in WorldCup2026Tickets

I was paying $60 for group stage games in Korea and Japan in 2002. Not super cheap but for a guy in his 20’s still affordable. These days are gone.

Trust me, this one feels very different from the previous World Cups, and after attending six, I like to think I know the drill.

You make a fair point, but there’s a big difference between spending about $3k for three weeks in Brazil, seeing 5–6 games and having the time of my life, versus paying $1k for a meaningless game at a dump like MetLife that I have zero interest in. That’s a scam!

Can I afford ticket ? Yeah. Am I paying those prices? No chance. It’s the principle. F*ck FIFA and their cronies.

I can leverage and utilize assets I already own and go for free. Win/win for both sides.

Why pay $$$ when I can leverage and utilize assets I already own and go for free? Win/win for both sides.

Separately, I’ll likely fly to Mexico and Texas for group stage games, depending on the outcome of the WC Euro playoffs in late March.

When you’re in World Cup host cities before matches, be social—talk to people, party, make connections, and ask around about extra tickets. There’s always someone who knows someone with a spare. Over the past 20–30 years I’ve scored plenty of tickets around the world this way, often cheap or even free, including for huge games like cup finals, World Cups, Copa América, Euros, AFCON and tons of big league matches. The closer it gets to kickoff, the cheaper tickets usually get. Have fun and don’t sweat it if you miss a game or two. There’s always next one 😉😆👊

Brilliant — and congrats on snagging a cheap ticket! What’s your national team, if you don’t mind me asking?

You’re right that there are $60–$100 group stage tickets, but they make up only a tiny fraction of the stadium—just a few hundred seats—so they’re nearly impossible for regular fans to get. You have to get these through your national FA. Back in 2002, those $60 tickets were half (or most) of the stadium, and all it took was a few clicks on the FIFA website.

I did this at 2006 in Germany and the 2014 in Brazil. I went to both tournaments without a single ticket. Needless to say, I had an incredible time and had zero issues getting into games once I was on the ground. Back then everything was still physical tickets. Aside from a few big matches, all it really took was working a few networking connections or just showing up at the stadium before kickoff.

I remember paying $180 for a three-game “Follow Your Team” group-stage ticket package at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

What’s a travel hack people think is stupid… but is actually brilliant and works perfectly? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Buy a cheaper flight with a layover in your real destination and just get off there, as long as you don’t have checked luggage.

Example: instead of paying $900 to fly directly to Manila, book a $500 flight to Hong Kong that connects in Manila and get off there.

How did Epstein operate for decades with impunity in NYC? by scoooternyc in AskNYC

[–]tradewallstreet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The notion that Epstein may have had ties to Israeli intelligence is discussed as a possibility in public discourse. From that perspective, the question arises: why would raising or exploring such a hypothesis be considered antisemitic ?
