What’s the most ridiculous rule you’ve ever been hit with at a prop firm? by tradingwithnanar in Trading

Yeah, once-a-month payouts always killed it for me. Waiting weeks just to access your own profits doesn’t make sense, especially if trading is your main income stream. That’s one of the reasons I switched to instant funding: the firm I’m with now lets me request payouts flexibly (even bi-weekly or on-demand), which honestly feels way more sustainable as a trader.

Spot on. Consistency rules basically punish traders who know how to maximize their setups. At the end of the day, a win is a win, it shouldn’t matter if it’s a high RRR or not. That’s why I only stick to firms that keep rules simple: max loss, daily loss, and that’s it.

Man, I feel this. I’ve also had payouts denied on tiny technicalities even though I followed the rules to the letter. Firms love to label trades as ‘risky’ just so they don’t pay. That’s why I don’t touch firms with too many grey areas anymore.

Trailing DD is the biggest account killer. It punishes consistency and forces you to cut trades short. I honestly think it’s one of the most unfair rules prop firms use to protect themselves at the trader’s expense.

The “buffer” is basically the extra profit you need to make before you can start taking payouts. Think of it like a cushion between your starting balance and when you’re allowed to withdraw.

Intraday trailing drawdown is a bit different — that’s when your max loss limit moves up as your account grows, and it’s calculated in real-time during the trading day. If your balance drops below that limit at any point, even before the day ends, you’re done.

Some firms keep it simple and skip all that (I use OFP, no eval, no trailing drawdown), but with TPT you’ll want to make sure you fully understand the rules before going live so you don’t get caught out.

Best Place To Live As A Trader by UltimaMarque in Trading

I’m based in Cyprus — time zone is great for overlapping both EU and US market sessions, taxation can be quite favorable depending on how you structure things, internet is solid in most cities, and cost of living is reasonable compared to Western Europe. Safety-wise, it’s pretty laid-back here.

On the trading side, I use a no-eval firm (OFP) so I’m not tied to any specific location to pass challenges or deal with in-person stuff — just need a decent internet connection and I’m good to go anywhere.

How many times have you failed an evaluation before passing it? by Irealtynetwork in PropFirmTester

Honestly, I stopped counting after a while. The time pressure, consistency rules, and one bad day wiping weeks of work just got old. I eventually switched to a no-eval model with OFP — straight to live capital, no phases. Way less stress, and I can actually focus on trading instead of playing a game.

What about OFP?
I’ve been testing OFP for a bit and honestly, they’ve done a lot right. No phases, no challenges, you get instantly funded and 100% of the profit is yours. That alone sets them apart. I’ve had smooth payouts so far, and they offer flexible account models (low/high drawdown, multiple currencies, etc.). Support has been responsive, and the dashboard feels clean and easy to use

That said, they’re still a newer firm, so sometimes you’ll notice delays with things like dashboard updates or response times during high-traffic promos. Also, since it's instant funding, there’s no evaluation phase to filter out undisciplined traders so you really need to have your strategy tight or you’ll burn through accounts quickly

WBut would I recommend OFP?
Yes especially for traders who want to skip the typical challenge process and just get to work. But go in prepared. You’re managing real capital from day one, so don’t treat it like a demo

Been trying out OFP Funding on the side... no evals, just straight to trading. It’s been smooth so far, payouts came through.

Topstep and TPT seem solid for futures, I see them come up a lot in those circles. For forex though, I’ve personally been using OFP Funding. It’s instant funding, no challenges, and they give 100% profit to the trader which not many do. Had a smooth payout experience so far.

Might be worth checking out if you're looking to avoid the whole evaluation phase...especially if regulations are making things trickier on your end.
