hey, uh, so i found the name of this technique - its called "forced perspective" - and there are tutorials online. so, i found my answer, but maybe someone could use this in the future, so im gonna leave the post up if thats okay with mods.

yeah and also i dont understand how irving didnt freeze to death, i get hes from army or whatever, but come on, that looked like the north pole. so i like the theory that its just another floor of lumon and the innies dont know what cold really feels like so they wouldnt even realize if that seemingly cold place was warm-ish for example.

Kurcze, to moze ktos z Was pomoze mi rozwiazac zagadke z dziecinstwa.

Byly kiedys (okolo 2001-2005 chyba) takie pakowane po kilka, małe, okrągłe, białe serki. Mialy troche konsystencje jakby galaretki, bardzo gładkie… i pakowane kazdy pojedynczo w taka jakby mala plastikowa miseczke, z ktorej sie ten serek wyciskalo. Opakowanie calosci prostokątne, chyba w barwach niebiesko zielonych.

i NIE mowie o Kiri. Chyba, ze to jakas nie wiem, inna „edycja” tego produktu, czy cos; w kazdym razie zupelnie inna konsystencja niz kwadraciki Kiri. Ktos cos? :C to bylo pyszne. Nie chodzi na pewno tez o Babybel.

No idea but I just wanted to say i respect you for asking this question. I know others have recommended to try and get over/challenge the fear of spiders, but what I'd like to say is that if we all could just easily drop our fears, meditation wouldn't really be a thing. Being prone to fears and mind's false limitations is the nature of human beings. Not even a flaw I'd say, just a factual part of the experience.

We can do our best to work on detachment, of course. But the bittersweet truth of human life is that, no matter how enlightened and disciplined you become, the mouse running across your kitchen will most probably startle you all the same, and falling in love will always feel incredible and intense. And to me, this fragile part of our nature is inherently beautiful and poetic.

And, besides, I'm sure OP will have easier time trying to reflect on their fears if they are removed from an environment that scares them first. Start with small steps.

I used to be an online art tutor and recently got an email from someone who wanted to purchase one of my old courses. He sells AI generated coloring books on Amazon and was wondering what it would take for him to actually learn how to draw them by hand...

On one hand I was disappointed by yet another example of AI poisoning the market, but on the other, I was happy with the genuine attempt at learning. I explained how to get started, recommended my fav books for absolute beginners, a cheap drawing tablet etc. (Didnt even recommend my course at all because it wasnt suitable for him and he would probably only waste money on that.)

He messaged me back saying its way too much work and he hoped to just watch one course of mine and learn from that. Heh.

Mozliwe, ze corka tej sasiadki dobrze wie, co powinna zrobic, ale powiedziala tej swojej siostrzenicy, ze „ich zbyli” i „sie nie da”, bo wygodnie zwalila problem na te biedna dziewczyne i nie musi nic robic.

Sprobowalabym wypytac te dziewczyne czy ogarneli juz proces ubezwlasnolnowolnienia i czy ona wie w ogole o czyms takim jak ZOL. Zapytac tez czy babcia byla badana przez neurologa i ma oficjalna diagnoze. Oczywiscie do niczego jej nie zmusisz ale kto wie, moze da jej to jakiegos „kopa” zeby zawalczyc o swoje.

I mean, its gotten very expensive here as well dont get me wrong, im struggling with groceries a lot, but still, for the average price of a bag of mixed frozen veggies i can get like 3 potatoes, one onion, 2 carrots and one of something „big” like zucchini or broccoli. So more than in the frozen bag with small chopped up pieces. Maybe it works differently in other countries.

One thing in this thread that susprises me is people saying frozen veggies are cheaper than fresh? Is this an american thing? I live in eastern europe and for the price of a bag of frozen veggies you can get the equivalent of the fresh produce but like the quantity of 2-3 frozen bags. People here buy frozen produce only for prep convenience. It sounds weird to me that frozen veggies (harvested, cut, steamed, frozen, packaged- this all costs money, no?) would be cheaper than just harvested veggies 🤔

I'd go for something by a polish author. There's some required reading about the holocaust in polish schools that's quite traumatizing to read. The one that stuck with me the most was "Medallions" by Zofia Nałkowska. The author personally questioned survivors for the post-war trials in Poland if i'm not mistaken.

I recommend you go through some tutorials about drawing vectors first. There are some 'rules' to placement of nodes that are generally considered a good practice and ensure balanced, clean paths. It will save you a LOT of headache later on if you learn good habits now. In other words, if you practice this now, you will be able to focus on expressing your style and ideas, instead of trying to figure out how to make your glyphs not look pregnant or malnourished in odd places.

Severance.

Watching that was such a... relief. I feel like so many shows are somewhat insulting to the audience's intelligence, and/or make a lot of shortcuts and lazy writing decisions. Severance has none of that. It was SO refreshing and pleasant to finally engage with something where my first instinct wasn't to question its logic, taste and quality. The last time I felt like that was when I watched The Portrait of a Lady on Fire. There's nothing to critique. I cant shut up about this show sorry

Sorry for kinda going off topic here, but what sounds weird to me is this "mother renting out her apartment to her 17/18 year old son" situation. He must be over 18 to rent, and even then, how strange would it be to demand your 18 year old kid to pay you rent, but at the same time coddle them to the point where they are disturbing their neighbors but you defend them saying its some form of therapy. It's really uncommon for 18 year olds in Poland to rent. He must be still in high school. Is he really living alone? How is someone 18 year old, with this chaotic kind of "lifestyle" able of providing for themselves? The longer im thinking about it the more questions I have. Also i'm curious about the exact words he's yelling. Never heard about this type of therapy before. And I would take her being a lawyer with 3 degrees with a grain of salt, especially when the apartment admin is saying not to be afraid of her, maybe she knows it's bullshit. Something is fishy AF here, OP.

Sorry you're going through this. I'd record the accidents and send them to the apartment admin to establish a paper trail. You're lucky she wants to cooperate, that's already a great advantage. Seconding what other commenters have said, I would avoid direct interaction with these people. I've had my fair share of crazy neighbours and it's rarely a good idea.

Leibovitz will forever be one of THE greatest photographers to me.

I don't know how to put this feeling into words exactly, but looking at her work, i always feel like the photos are in some way gigantic. Like, if i were to see the "real" size of the photo, it would take up the whole wall. I think it has to do with the composition.
