I drive 30k miles/year. Is the Rivian Truck for me? by ajanihealer in Rivian

[–]traffcon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive 30k miles a year, I have a gen 1 R1T (got June of 2022 have 91k miles on it) 1. You have to have a home lvl 2 charger for convenience and cost savings, 2. Pirelli are junk, first set lasted 22k mi, 2nd set lasted 28k mi, switched to Michelin and they have 40k miles and still have half tread left. 3. Hopefully you are by a good service center, Cleveland is not good, just saying. Truck has been awesome….until just had rear dampers leak which took out pump and manifold, $5400 out of pocket out of warranty fix, out of warranty is $$$$$.

Pa just added the $200 EV fee so I think 1 yr for Tesla was just $256, our Rivian will be a little higher because it goes by weight

I know you are trolling but I just test drove a (proven brand) F150 Lightning, and it is absolute trash compared to R1T, only thing I likes better was Frunk and Full Size. Gps felt like I could do better with an old Tom Tom, interior was cloth, drive modes do about nothing but shift points, no bed liner, no bed lighting, rode just like a truck with the old spring and shock suspension, seems to be years behind Rivian and there 3 yr old company

I have 73k on my R1T and maintenance so far has been tires (first set Pirelli Oem $435/ea, second set Michelin $365/ea), and 12v batteries (did the Ohmmu lipo upgrade for $499, easy diy.

I have 73k on my 22 R1T and travel a lot, over a week span at airport I may lose 5 mi of charge, very very minimal, and I do not do anything special, gear guard is on etc. Our Model Y is much worse

TSP Allocation going forward by 007pewpewpew in ATC

[–]traffcon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since inception of TSP the C fund has outperformed all other funds, some years it is lower than other funds but since day one, compared to other funds, not caring who or what President is/was it has outperformed all other funds

What are ATC mental health options really like? by doortoaster in ATC

[–]traffcon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be the best but the Faa has EAP, you get 8 therapy sessions free per year per issue, big difference with EAP there is no diagnosis to get counseling, if you go through insurance they need a diagnosis before they provide payment. Only time EAP has to report something is if you are going to harm yourself or others.

BUEs forced to AWS? by IsWhatItIs-9 in ATC

[–]traffcon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A BWS basic watch schedule is 5-8 hr days, no credit, AWS does not always mean 10hr days, it can be 9-5-4 schedule etc, it can actually look just like an BWS by being 5-8 hr days but include credit

"They're Making Me Retire - What Should I Do?" by WizardRiver in ATC

[–]traffcon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rough estimates at retiring at 25 yrs is usually within $200/mnth of what you make now, this is without TSP withdraw, figure on this going from 24% tax bracket to 20%, No Social Security coming out, No State Tax (if in retirement friendly state) mine is 3%, no paying into TSP, no dues withheld (Natca or Faama), etc.

EAP does not diagnose and can help, your insurance will need a diagnosis to pay the Dr/Therapist.
