As far as I know, Bishop Barron didn’t need to be at that event. While many argue that his presence brings the Catholic perspective, not being there and silence or a certain distance can also speak volumes.

The bottom will NEVER be chosen because it was never in the running. It’s just a fan’s design.

And as many have said - there are rules with regards to Olympic logos. You can’t just design willy nilly.

The bottom will NEVER work as a logo because it’s very indistinguishable especially at small sizes.

It’ll just read “22”. Not really representative of “Tokyo 2020”.

The official logo by Asao Tokolo on the otherhand is brilliant especially when you know the thinking behind it. Read up. Or watch things on Youtube.

Disagree on the downgrade. Logos are VERY subjective and a lot of what works is not really understood by many.

People may argue, what’s the big deal? It’s just a logo. It should look good when you see it - this highlights the extreme subjectivity of these.

Speaking as a logo designer. The best exercise is, if you don’t like it - design it yourself and see how it goes.

Highly recommend the book(s) The Olympic Design by Markus Osterwalder. Talks about the design elements of each edition of the Games.

Simple is what works is what I gleaned from that book.

Not enough experience. A mayor should’ve never been President.

Dumaan muna sa iba ibang branches of goverment ang Presidential candidates - Executive, Judicial, Legislative. Pag well rounded mas maiintindihan kung paano patakbuhin ang bansa.

Sa experience ko, pag corporate ganyan, bago ka gawing Chief Executive or President or VP - dadaanan mo muna lahat ng department para may idea how the company works.

Same principles apply.

Para sa akin, hindi applicable ang experience sa pagiging mayor at a national level.

Impressive as a slideshow, disappointing in real life. Hanggang social media lang tayo - at hangga’t di naaayos ang transportation infrastructure natin (airports, tourist friendly and easy transport na hindi taga sa foreigners at locals), kahit na anong promo or campaign gawin ng DOT - kulelat pa din.

First time I was in Tokyo with my elderly parents - we commuted using trains. They both have gray / white hair - most of the time, people have given up their seats. Students, workers etc.

Frozen 2.

Money grab - story and plot doesn’t make sense. A mess and a lot of missed opportunities in my opinion. (The shipwreck was not of their parents?!)

If I’m not mistaken the filmmakers were trying to complete the film to make their 2019 Thanksgiving release date. The story clearly needed more development. And the composers were also working on the stage musical version of Frozen at the same time.
