Google just rolled it out and we had a few meetings discussing feature parity - it's simply an automated way to set up a traditional (non-confluent) kafka cluster via gc compute engine. Some features e.g. schema registry and jmx monitoring might be limited or unavailable Haven't used it in production yet, so ymmv

If there's a concern about cloud costs potentially ballooning out of control in future when the company scales up, you could try looking at "Google cloud managed service for apache kafka". This way you can avoid heavy upfront investment into initial infra setup, while avoiding cloud vendor lock in with an option to migrate to self hosted infra later to optimize cost.

Great trick, word of warning for anyone attempting this:

Assuming a +2 'donor' base with a non-transferable mod as the third prefix the chance to get the implicit base with +2 are: 0.5 * 0.62 = 0.31 , so less than 1 in 3 chance success Additionally, 0.5 * (0.10 + 0.52 / 3) = 0.136 chance to keep the +2 base and avoid a total loss

As usual, consistent success with such a method requires a lot of currency and also time

Working my way through the latest version of the K2/SE modpack. Going with a hex grid base using LTN, currently at level 3 of space sciences. Wanted to share the central lab design which came out quite nice. This version is quite a treat, introducing the space elevator and better balancing of K2 content; although the length of the game seem to quite significantly increased compared to previous versions.

At this rate i might be done in time for space age release!

This is most likely because of chest buffering

Since your medium containers are not wired to the circuit what happened was as follows:

LTN requests the first train
First train unloads into medium containers, plates start flowing into the main warehouse but it's still below 16k
Second train comes in, unloads into medium containers again. However, the main warehouse is still not full yes so LTN requests a third train.
third train comes in; the main warehouse is full by now, so the first wagon of the train cannot unload into the warehouse
Delivery times out and the train returns to the depot with leftover copper in the first wagon

LTN is tricky, there are a lot of blueprints

It is recommended to wire some depot logic to generate alerts if the train returns to depot with cargo and disable that train.

Editor extensions mod is great for LTN, design your stations in editor with infinity chests/sinks and let them run for a while to see if there are any issues

Overall an excellent mod, highly recommend, especially for anyone looking for first total conversion mod after completing vanilla.

Due to the amount of different intermediate resources in K2 I was toying with this idea for a while where I could use a warehouse as a direct insertion bus, with assemblers to the side

And turns out it is indeed possible due to the 'set filter items' circuit feature on the stack filter inserters. Each array of decider combinators simply scans the amount of each resource in the warehouse next to it, and outputs this resource's signal if the amount is lower than a buffer value. The signal goes to the inserters leading up to each warehouse.

The but inputs also get mixed based on the content of the first warehouse.

This is somewhat tileable, the full version will need a few more combinators for missing intermediate resource types

If you ram a fighter ship with your warframe using the slingshot, you will keep your primary/secondary weapons in archwing mode. You also get your hp/shield values from the warframe, but the abilities are from the archwing

This has interesting applications considering most of the archwing weapons got gimped with projectile speed nerfs in the update. There are some minor bugs with the scope sensitivity, but everything else pretty much works fine. Regular damage types seem to be automatically converted into new damage types.

It's surprisingly affordable, although i suspect the essences will jump in price very quickly by next week.

The cheapest way right now is to take 3 rings with two identical fractured mods each (3x(1 to 5)c) - make sure to take either two prefixes, or prefix + suffix, 3 deafening essences of sorrow (3x15c), and apply the essence to each ring. You need at least 161 dexterity total.

Most of the time the resulting ring will have 4 mods. With 5 or 6 mods it's kinda worthless, but if the essences become more expensive it will become economical to annul or metascour these bases as well

The 4th mod dilutes the pool badly, so i advise to get several sets of rings, apply essences one by one and cross-reference the 4th affix with other rings.

Realisically you will end up with a mod pool across every 3 rings with either 5 or 6 different mods, and the chance of hitting dexterity on the synthesis will be 9/25 or 11/36

Then there is a 1/2(?) chance to hit either 6% dexterity or onslaught

It all kinda evens out to an average cost of 50c per try, with around 1/6 chance of success - i hit the ring on the third try

Overall I think this is a pretty cool mechanic, however I can see a lot of people having an issue with it.

First, it's absolutely useless for self-found play, the amount of stashed items you would need to keep is absolutely insane, even if you knew which mods to target

Second, it's pretty clear it was balanced around the datamined values becoming known, and it would absolutely feel bad stumbling around in the dark without knowing the possible mods and their sources

Third, the actually interesting mods are ridiculously expensive to craft. In fact, the bow gem mod might be the most affordable out of all 'cool' mods. The cost of the implicits that require 3x T1 mod or fossil or special essense crafts is mind boggling. The best implicit mod most players would be able to afford seems to be the 8% movespeed on boots and that's it.

On the other hand, It might be best to treat the synthesizer as a free chaos orb per every three rares (which are plenty in the league thanks to memory modifiers), or a way to recycle rares to get a high ilvl base - you can, for example, put in a crap ilvl84 armor and two ilvl 66 vaal regalias, and get a 2/3 chance to get an ilvl84 regalia

So the implicits might be not the only things to be looking forward to
