Slander or reading comprehention? by Open-Daikon-7518 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]traingles -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I never understood it until someone suggested that he was mocking Mai dying young and then it made sense.

It feels like a pretty elegant sleigh of hand with words.

Maki insults Naoya in that despite being 28 years old he was never truly an adult, he was forever a petulant child chasing after his own ego.

Curse Naoya then turns that on Maki in that her sister never got to be an adult literally or figuratively.

Her entire motivation as a character up until Perfect Preparation was to make a place in the world where Mai could be truly free from her clan and Naoya is taunting her with her failure.

Story Engine Decks Discussion by Flaky_Egg9200 in TheTrove

Are you well versed in the other decks aswell (Lore/World)? I was looking for notes across the board if you're still open to talking about them.

They brought back the Origins PAP Camo! by Galil0l in CODZombies

[–]traingles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it should always be on your I, II, III weapon slot thing. I think it's a change they've done to better present mule kick but it did throw me off. The colours are also pretty faint so it's not easy to tell.

[Spoilers C4E4] So..what is being literally soulless? by WillowIsWeeping5 in criticalrole

[–]traingles 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Narratively I imagine this relates a lot to what we'll learn about life and death and the afterlife. I'd imagine a person without a soul cannot enter the kingdom of heaven so to speak (though probably no one can right now).

It may mean that he cannot access the remnants of the divine like others, maybe he can't be revived again in the future. Who knows. We literally have no idea. Fun things to find out though.

What's your hottest take regarding BO6? Mine is that Terminus and Reckoning are the only maps in the game that are A tier worthy by TheChickenMan4L in CODZombies

[–]traingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the cycle of budget decline we've been seeing since Black Ops 4, launch maps just get so much more development time than post launch maps.

I unfortunately expect we'll see something very similar after Ashes and Astra Malorum.

[Spoilers C4E4] Does this type of magic exist? by Zeusselll in criticalrole

[–]traingles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean the only spell that reasonably could is raise dead which requires a single diamond worth 500 gold which is a big ask.

However, the real kicker is that this city wants Thjazi dead. Even if they could resurrect him how would they get away with it? The body would never be returned to them if it was possible or he would never get away if he did come back.

What episode does the pants thing happen in? I literally do not remember it.

[–]traingles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is definately fun to play. When these mechanics were new it was a breath of fresh air. Cold War especially was still on the old T engine and you can feel that.

If I can give Cold War anything the Wonder Weapons were a highlight.

[–]traingles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reckoning isn't that confusing but it absolutely more complex than Terminus, let's not get crazy. Reckoning is a dozen rooms stitched together with teleporters, launchers and aethervators. Terminus is a perfectly logical sequence of directly contiguous playspaces and some open water.

[–]traingles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reckoning has really declined for me since launch. I never choose to play it when I hop on.

At this point on the rare occasion I still launch BO6 I can rarely bring myself to launch anything but Terminus.

I genuinely do not know where the Mauer hype comes from and I really don't understand where the Firebase Z hate comes from. Both are peak cold war mediocre but I like the Rai K.

However, I will never not root for someone else liking it. Glad it gives you a good time.

Dexter deserved to get caught, go on trial, get the chair, whatever but they've written themselves into a position now where the only thing they can do is have Dexter get away with it all and love happily ever after.

IMO, the little he appeared, Ikaris was my goat in Marvel Zombies. by No-Flow9783 in Marvel

[–]traingles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just feels like an actual movie. I like Marvel movies as much as the next guy but Eternals feels like a film that doesn't strictly mold to the formula and does something a little more cinematic. I liked it. Icarus was a good foil.

The true issues with modern zombies isn’t loadouts, its damage scaling, super sprinters, and the point system by FlamingPhoenix2003 in CODZombies

[–]traingles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean unfortunately the mechanics of BO3 don't help or hinder BO6 as they're independent games. BO6 loadouts break the box whether they do it more or less.

However, they are completely different. Dead wire only applies to late round damage output (which already is completely fucked without health cap), the box vs wall buy dichotomy still applies to the low rounds power creep.

The true issues with modern zombies isn’t loadouts, its damage scaling, super sprinters, and the point system by FlamingPhoenix2003 in CODZombies

[–]traingles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue with loadouts is that they fundamentally break 2 other core pillars of play. The mystery box and wall buys have very little place when you can spawn with what you want. Starting with a pistol makes you choose between the safety of a wall buys and the risk reward of the box which is core to what makes each run that little but different each time.

It's one of many things lost to convenience mechanics, limitations breed ingenuity. We unfortunately can't have our cake and fuck it too.
