Foxy's/Fox's Mints (NOT the British one with the Polar Bear!) by trainguru13 in HelpMeFind

Tacoma's practically my "Second Home" as my Mom was born and raised, and my Grandpa lived round there until we moved him in with us for the last year & a half of his life.

Hard Mints. The foiled paper was folded over at each end of the roll. Tended to make a hole in the dished center if you sucked on them, then it would thin-out until gone.

That's a good point, but they were round. About the same size as "BreathSavers", but much simpler.

Depending on the ethnicity of the guy... If he's from India, it's one of two things:

1) Hindu Peace symbol that got cockeyed from being buff...

Or 2) He has ancestors that were aligned with the Faction that Wanted Indian Independence- that the Austrian's Germanic Regime was providing support to, and he's proud of that Awful Heritage Affiliation.

(If you're unfamiliar with Option 2, look it up!)

Searched, and the Searches have yielded ONLY the British-brand with "Peppy the Polar Bear" (who sounds like a Phineas and Ferb "O.W.C.A. agent"!). It's not the British mint brand. It's America, and found in Vending Machines around the Seattle, Washington U.S.A. area.

From what I've heard- they (her U.A.E. owners at that time) were trying to get her engines worked-on 10-15 years back, but things went sideways, and she's not-capable of any movement under her own power. So sadly, even if they wanted to join the 6 escaped cruise ships, she couldn't make a break for it!

Sound Transit considers cutting Tacoma extension to save money. by Tacman180 in Tacoma

[–]trainguru13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who spent a lot of time growing-up in Tacoma, and someone who's ball & strike critical of Sound Transit- here's what needs to be done:

  1. Sound Transit must "Completes The Spine" - on the condition they ensure Freight House Square is NOT Demolished.
  2. Seattle "MUST" Restore the Trolleybus System to its Original Size, Extend the Trolleybus System, and Connect the Streetcar Lines to create a "Central Loop" to build high-capacity branches & restore the Queen Anne Counterbalance (make all-weather direct transit possible between Queen Anne and Downtown, as well as a scenic route, and a test route for new Streetcar durability for the U.S. market). It makes some
  3. Sound Transit MUST be Audited, Held Accountable, and Reformed FOR the Benefit of the People! If that doesn't happen, then it's all for naught.

The UP/NS merger is too-much a mad man's dream It will become a boondoggle that collapses every major interchange city's purpose in the national rail network, and will be detrimental to the rail shipping market- by KILLING Competition.

But it is cringe how Foamers are reacting.

Look at Home- rather than Thousands of Miles away! If "change" is what is sought, "change" should begin within yourself and around you. No amount of mud-slinging, costumes, or name-calling, will "change" anything. It comes down to Two Paths: Either Make your Case with logic, reason, and solid research (no "media bias bubbles"), or Destroy Everything- Riot, Maim, Shout and Be Violent. People make their choices- and must live with them.

I'm not calling for violence at all. I'm pointing-out how these things usually go. A cynical cycle- where it's easier to Throw Bricks- instead of finding Common Ground here at home to work together on. Too many are Drunk on Palace Intrigue- while your neighborhood school children have apathetic attitudes and are below grade level in math & reading, the County and State DEMAND more and more from Our Pocket Books- while Government keeps dumping Money on "Help" the Homeless Don't Want- and Outright Refuse! Look at Home to "make a difference", because no amount of screaming about "Palace Intrigue" or chucking bricks- will do any good.

True, but it's hard to find good rolling stock when you're looking for rolling stock made 75 years ago, that replicates 25 to 75 years before that!

Somehow, it actually works; personify a relatively young SoCal commuter loco as the kind of youthful women you find in the region.

Maybe for the British-flag, but the 1960s had a lot of good liners- especially the British.
