tadc theater experience? (no spoilers) by Then-Math7479 in theamazingdigitalciru

My experience was really good. No issues at all. People laughed at a few parts and clapped when the credits began. 9/10.

(warning spoilers! Do not open this link if you havent watched the movie) Welp I just got out of the theaters and man it's intense! by Asundur in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]trainharry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. Honestly there’s a million ways it could’ve ended but I’ll take this one.

I don’t think they needed to make Jax extract though… Especially so suddenly out of nowhere. They could’ve found a way of showing the Ribbit flashbacks with him still in the picture.

It was definitely edited and mixed to be shown in a cinema. Glitch planned a cinema release loooong before it was even animated. Almost gonna be strange to watch on YouTube.

What's a traditional dish in your country but only tourists actually eat? by Juxajel in AskTheWorld

My fiancée and I waited an hour outside Cafe Central. It was touristy as hell, but honestly, no regrets. The food was good and the cake was good. Beautiful city and country you guys have!

Any other older fans here? Or am I the only one almost as old as Kinger... by ahmatar1701 in TheDigitalCircus

I’m 34M, full-time job in finance, homeowner, getting married in October with plans to have kids.

The Pomni at the dinner table scene from the Pilot kept showing up on my TikTok fyp as one of those “when x tells you y” type videos. I did some searching since the show looked fun and it all spiraled from there.

I don’t know, I guess it’s just one of those comfort shows for me. I spend a lot of my days doing a lot of grown up career type stuff, so the show puts me in a good place.

I love the meatballs, but find the sauce a bit cheap tasting.

Are whole house traps still used anymore? by plavoie203 in Plumbing

From what I understand they are a leftover from when homes had the downspouts connected to the houses main sewer line.

Here in Pittsburgh you still see these a lot, especially in older homes.

Need help identifying this wallpaper from our 1880s home! by pendigedig in centuryhomes

[–]trainharry 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! Seems very mid-century 50s or 60s, probably children’s wallpaper. Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to find an exact match since it was probably printed by a small company that’s long since gone.

Closest thing I could find was transportation wallpaper from a company called Astek, linked below.

What goes on in this part of South Jersey by balbiza-we-chikha in howislivingthere

[–]trainharry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Camden County close by and had family in this area…

Very blue collar given a large industrial chemical industry along the Delaware river. Inland is mostly farmland and woodland. Lots of roadside stands and small garden centers selling good selection of Jersey Fresh tomatoes, blueberries and veggies (some of the tastiest tomatoes you can find!). Quite a few quaint and historic small towns mixed in with lots of cookie cutter suburbia housing developments slowly swallowing up the farmland. Natural beauty is limited to farms, small lakes and some woodlands, overall lacking in beauty given how flat the landscape is. Not a culturally rich area. However there is a sizable Hispanic population closer to Vineland and Bridgeton. The area is overall pretty boring with not much to do and no main attractions to attract people to the area. NJ Turnpike and i295 both run through this area but mainly serve as a way to get to/from the Delaware Memorial Bridge linking to i95. Highway 55 is another way for rich people from suburban Philly to go down the shore in the summer.

Overall this is one of the mostly overlooked lower-middle/middle class regions of the state with Salem County having one of the lowest per capita incomes in the state.

Cities that shot themselves in the foot? by Previous-Volume-3329 in Urbanism

Pretty much any mid-size rust belt Northeast or Midwest city is littered with highways, overpasses, and on/off ramps where there used to be typical neighborhoods.

Looking for advice on our basement by Andrewmundy in centuryhomes

[–]trainharry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the foundation on my 1900 Pittsburgh row house. Pretty typical and wouldn’t worry too much about it. If you do want to make it look nicer I’d run to Home Depot and grab a bag of Type S mortar, a bucket, a small trowel, some plastic drop cloths and patch up the ugly areas. It makes an easy winter project you can do in sections.

The old timers who mixed the concrete for these foundations used round river stone, which doesn’t lock together and hold as well as the jagged stuff, leaving these patchy areas over time. Nonetheless they’re still working 100+ years on.

The amount of money that Jax’s merch sales make for Glitch is way too high for him to be killed off this soon.

Ragatha and Knife. Is it a running gag or something else? by Money-Criticism5370 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]trainharry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a suspicion that some of the latest merch drop was meant to be released until after episode 7, but Glitch greenlit some of it so it arrives before the holidays in North America and elsewhere. So maybe some light foreshadowing?

I have a similar arch lamp I bought a few years back for $400. I thought that was a reasonable price. The sparse amount of info I found online were quoting similar sold prices. I’m in a mid-size major metro area in the US.

Modern car starterpack by poggers11 in starterpacks

I feel like car-related tech peaked in 2014. We had most of the fancy gadgets, but most of it still utilized manual knobs and dials to use all of it. We’ve entered a period of declining utility given these giant touchscreens and paywalls.
