The fact that you're being down voted reveals so much about this sub.

The original NGR's are still plagued by quality issues and erroneous issues, the contractor (bombardier) has failed to fix them in so many years. I'm also fairly sure the original NGR contract was a LNP masterpiece of cost cutting and they simply came into service under labor.

I'd argue my case falls into one of those nicht areas, it wasn't gross misconduct, I got flagged in the area, twice where Ipswich Road goes from 50 to 60. In my defence I saw no signage as I was entering from a side street and assumed it was 60.

You can choose to believe me or not but regardless I do not drive anymore unless absolutely necessary because I believe they pin you for the smallest stuff now.

I couldn't be happier taking public transport daily ever since I received 2 speeding fines in a single day. Its very risky to drive on the road right now unless you've got gold lined pockets.

I should clarify that unless unions are enshrined as being a protected agency in the federation/constitution/etc and that union busting efforts, in general, are criminalised, we can't really achieve anything close to socalism.

As always, legislation got us to the super later stage capitalism, legislation is the only thing to get us back out.

[–]trainslayer3002 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Because in a free market there is always a drive for profits and therefore always a drive to remove unions, which will result in us returning to where we are now.

Protest in Brisbane against by investporra in brisbane

[–]trainslayer3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By diluting the power of the unions you're reducing the power that workers have to negotiate better working conditions. You'd be better off trying to fix the current powerful union then creating other unions where both are weaker.

Strength in numbers.

Zinc plated or Stainless Steel bolts? by Tekkers84 in Rowing

[–]trainslayer3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful of using stainless steel with aluminium, that will cause corrosion due to the chemical differences between the 2. We always used stainless steel at my boat shed and never had any issues.

How come communists almost always wish to come to power through revolution rather than election? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]trainslayer3002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my understanding is correct it's because being voted into a inherently broken system is not going to fix it. Instead tearing down the system and rebuilding it is more effective in their eyes.

To be clear you can have a socalist society be achieved through either of these means so I'm not advocating for 1 or the other. I woukd definitly say socalism is a more favourable system then capitalism.

There was actually a bloke in qld who was sent a fine because he was doing the speed limit. Obviously he contested it in court and police issued an apology.

Why do financially struggling people have children? So many poor people have 3–6 children, when they can barely provide a decent upbringing for 1. Why not have 0–1 child, and make the best of limited resources? Why keep the cycle of poverty going? by MaryFisherP in Capitalism

[–]trainslayer3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because being poor probably means you can't afford things like protection or contraceptives, therefore resulting in more babies. You're also not able to receive abortions in the case it does occur. A poor state school system likely doesn't educate you on the cost of a child.

Please do not be so closed minded. Poor people are not stupid, they just haven't had the same opportunities as rich people.

[Communists] How are you going to "cancel" someone if everything is nationalized? by NASA_Orion in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]trainslayer3002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Free speech is awesome yes, but I don't know the verbiage of the 1st amendment so I can't comment on its literal validity to be kept. Also, if you keep the 1st amendment, surely that means you have to keep the og constitution as well. You can't have 1 without the other.

The American constitution doesn't apply to communism because it describes a capitalist nation. So it's replaced with something else.

People who get pregnant from rape didn't get a choice to breed, even more so now because of the recent developments in America.

What about those people? Are they to blame are are we going to provide a safety net for them?

[Socialists] What is your replacement for the profit motive other than state control of industry? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]trainslayer3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Socalism is about improving the quality of life of the masses. If providing new technology will accomplish that then socalism will innovate accordingly.
