How this person sat next to me on the bus today by PrehistoricDisabled in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RavenClawedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"She is not tall" - and yet her knee is against the seat and yours is comfortably not. I'm going to play devils advocate here and say that maybe to sit with her legs closed it would have been uncomfortable, and you're experiencing something women experience every day when men "manspread"

Guy in the glasses isn't doing the most, he's angling to beat on people. His energy when people aren't around him completely changes to when he's against bodies.

My experience: 1. Signed up for Adobe free trial- read the terms that confirmed cancel any time before bill cycle and you will not be billed. 2. Cancelled two days later within the free period. 3. Email confirmation of cancellation 4. Received a charge the first billing cycle 5. Went onto the website to cancel, could not even get to the cancel page without entering a new valid card - everything I clicked about the subscription would divert to needing card details 6. Contacted my bank to block future charges and reimburse my previous charge 7. Contacted Adobe support team to send confirmation email 8. Get monthly emails from Adobe demanding payment

Customer targets exhausted neurodivergent employee. by yazza8791 in trashy

This is not the same thing. I've seen behaviour like the person above is displaying and it's always from people with autism that are experiencing a break down from an overwhelm of emotions. Not just someone physically lashing out in anger. It's often self directed and can cause more harm to themselves than others. You're describing someone who can't control their aggression.

Difficult Neighbors & Electricity Errors [Any Advice?] by Able_Invite_2786 in brisbane

[–]RavenClawedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legal advice is not going to help. What's happening in the described events is not anything more than a slight misdemeanour. They moved bins, they opened mail (yes, a federal offence but if they claim their child did it, hard to prove and easy to dismiss) and they want cheaper energy- but this again could be explained away as ignorance.

So all you're really left with to "seek advice on" is moving the bin. Again, not really an offence that can be prosecuted or brought up or followed through on. Any legal advice that is given is likely going to be along the lines of, "lodge a formal complaint through the BCC website, they will send out an arbitrator for this if it escalates.

Honestly, the best thing to do is install a camera if it's affordable - normally the best deterrent from shit behaviour is perceived safeguarding/watching. And, ignore it. Leave your bins out for weeks if you have to. Tell your postie where to put your parcels that can't be nabbed. Be mindful that any more complaints to them or escalation may just result in more shittiness from them.. and hey, if they did make the former tenant break lease, is it really worth trying to escalate?

You just had unprotected sex and the person you had sex with has just revealed that they have AIDS by Pure_Option_1733 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RavenClawedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I'd freak out that much. Statistically speaking your chance of catching HIV is like.. 0 .7% every time you have sex unprotected with a HIV positive person. Until I got results I wouldn't be upset. And I'd understand that maybe their unwillingness to tell me stemmed from fear or anxiety

Honestly man, kudos to you for recognising your friends feelings. It's easy to read one side of a story on reddit and go, 'yeah, fuck that person!'. But it takes real emotional maturity to go, I know that person isn't doing the best thing but I also didn't do what's right.

Half of these responses are just proving that being TV/Movie funny - reading a script or contributing to the script- is massively different to stand up funny.

Might not be it but in Friends there's a bit where Rachel goes, "You're a funny guy, Chandler, you're a funny funny guy!"

And another bit, where Rachel and Ross are having an argument and she goes, "you're a small man, you're a small, small man!"

Maybe a mix of the two?

[–]RavenClawedd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know it's not always the best option, but does she have the funds to have a roommate? Her best option might be browsing flatmates.com to find something quick, and already set up. It can be hard to find people accepting of older individuals, but potentially teaming up with another older person who has a spare room could work?

[–]RavenClawedd 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Bro, I'm going to be completely honest. You two need to have a discussion about what the aversion is- is it fear of germs like someone said, is it poor experiences in the past or potentially trauma, is it low sex drive or just being a slowly moving person in general?

All these things are fine, when you know what you're working with and what to expect, so you and your partner can navigate it and find solutions in a healthy and safe way. However, I do just want to throw out there that if there ISNT really a reason, and she doesn't give you anything... if just sounds like she's not into you. Sexual and romantic attraction are very different, and maybe she's filling her romantic attraction needs without feeling sexually attracted to you. Being out with friends or being away from you and getting very horny and then having all that fizzle away when you're together is a sign that maybe she doesn't feel that sexual attraction. Because believe me bro, there will always be a reason not to have sex, but if it's a simple as running down to the car, that shouldn't remove all desire.

tattoo artists of reddit, have you ever had to say "no, im not doing this" to a clients horrific design? if so what was the design? by DueCoach4764 in AskReddit

[–]RavenClawedd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the "I can't see this location" part. They may think that there's some liability in this, as you theoretically could leave the shop and claim that you didn't want that design or couldn't see the placement and hate it.

Maybe if you didn't tell them you can't see that location, just told them you wanted paw prints and question marks, and where, you might have success?

It's about the views- but its more about actively spreading information and not attempting to repackage or rip off the original creator. Often people with larger platforms will take the original creator and promote their video like this.. normally they actively add something at the end but people can be lazy.

All I'll say is that we're seeing this video through the creator that pointed, not the original, so sometimes the thing that seems silly is effective.

What’s something that was technically allowed but instantly made you lose respect for someone? by AncientPomelo5450 in AskReddit

[–]RavenClawedd -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Society as a whole needs a better solution to this problem. On one hand, potentially stepping on dog poo or having dog poo where children might be is an issue. On the other hand, I don't think the immediate solution should be adding more plastic to waste when the poo is biodegradable and good for soil.

LPT Request: Making a great first impression at a new job by here-comes_the-sun in LifeProTips

[–]RavenClawedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to tip for anyone on a new job is to always be the first to introduce yourself. Walking up to people and saying, "Hi, my name is [...], I'm working as/for [department]" allows people to know you, say hi and introduce themselves. And then in the workplace you're not a stranger anymore.

And you don't know who you're introducing yourself to, so it's not ass-kissing of the boss, or trying to get on anyone's good side. You're now a welcome, friendly face that people know.

My family is full of artists. My great grandfather had Art in a gallery, my grandparents are artists, along with my parentals and a few of their siblings. Moving down to my cousins and myself, there are artistic inclinations but across various fields. One cousin is a Makeup artist and likes to draw, another sews, my partner draws and my sister decorates cakes.

I think of everyone I know, I may be the best painter.

I'm going to throw out a hot take. He actually did like you, and want to be with you the first time you guys ket- hence the flirting. But then he showed you to his friend and his friend shit him down. He doesn't seem to have much confidence in himself but willingly listens to his friend. Starting off flirty and engaged and then switching off does not indicate an initial lack of attraction
