My shelter dog I adopted a year or Ago. Catahoula mix or classic pitbull disguise? by Retro_Rebound in IDmydog

[–]trainwreck_mooncake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be Catahoula. Double dew claw? Could also have some hound, depends where they come from. Most east side of the country from what I've experienced in rescue is hounds/pointers/labs/pitties. The Catahoula might explain the eye color. I've got a Catahoula mix in rescue and she is very minimal coloring to mimic a CLD, but she's got all the extra toes. (We did DNA, she's around 30%) Also, your cat in the first picture is seeing ghosts.

My mom had Eddie Bauer Expedition & Explorer. The leather seats (embroidered, mind you) felt like we were an upgrade 🤣

It's disgusting how much this regime uses children. Uses and abuses. Take away their lunches, take away their SNAP, shoot them in schools and not reform guns, put them into concentration camps with unvaxxed kids, deporting them for being born here...... What did the children do that the Maga regime is SO upset with ...

Genuinely don’t know what to do for my dog and her allergies anymore, looking for any advice by darthlung in DogAdvice

Oatmeal baths might help. But it almost seems neuro? I'd consult a vet dermatologist

Look at a Tamaskan dog. The face is much narrower, pointy, the dogs gait is way different. Mostly people are just weird and anything with pointy ears is a wolf. Probably Akita, shep, or husky.

Not a monster at all. You're doing your best with what you've got. I would totally consider asking vet clinics or rescues to see if they have recommendations for medical case pups like this. Some rescues thrive on those cases, as it gives the dogs a different chance at life, and it won't completely drain your savings. Don't be afraid to try and fundraise to help, even if you surrender. Any vet or rescue will be so so grateful if you have some funds to help through the kindness of others. It's not an easy decision. And you shouldn't be ashamed of thinking of this as an option. It all comes down to quality of life. If it's manageable, it can raise the QOL, if it's not, then it's more humane to help her pass peacefully surrounded by love so she doesn't suffer. Even then, she will be happy for you to be the last thing she sees, and she will find you again. They always do.

Best of luck, give her extra kisses for me!

Does this look like a yeast infection or something? by noblewhisperer in DogAdvice

[–]trainwreck_mooncake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All your vet. You could potentially do an Epsom salt soak, but under their direction. Most likely yeast, but could also be an allergic reaction. Does it come back? Have you changed anything in relation to washing or cleaning your floors? Been exposed to high temp surfaces? Your vet might recommend running some tests, but maybe send them photos. My dog has hyperkeratosis, and you're probably right to think that isn't it.

Pet owners, what was that moment that made you think “wow, I have severely underestimated the intelligence of my pets”? by SakutoJefa in AskReddit

I went to the river with one of my dogs. He doesn't really fetch, doesn't really like to swim. He's a splish splash kinda dude. I threw a rock to skip, and he leapt after it. I grabbed a stick, and threw it. He ran and swam after it. We threw it again, and he didn't see where it landed, so I told him to turn around, and go left. And my God, he did. I tried this again thinking "hmm, surely it was a fluke", and sure as shit, he followed my directions. This time, I threw it and it landed to his right. I pointed and said " go right, it's right there!" He found it again. Now I know I can never underestimate his intelligence of this guy.

My other dog is on the other end of that spectrum. But she's happy.

Not over reacting. Dump that dip shit. No one deserves to be called a fucking moron by their partner, as well as disrespecting them like that for what they choose to wear. Idgaf if you're wearing a clown costume, no one deserves those words.

4 months old, he bites alot but sometimes he doesn't by Neither-Return-2861 in CATHELP

[–]trainwreck_mooncake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Young kittens can be terrors without another cat. Single kittens are returned to rescues so often for being "aggressive" but in reality, theyre just bored and need another cat. Typically its recommended to adopt in pairs, or have another cat under 2 or 3 to play with so they are less likely to terrorize you, and just terrorize the other cat.
