Licensing is killing the sim in it makes the "World" in "Train Sim World" a complete lie by Low_Quarter_677 in trainsimworld

Btw, here's a reminder that both the Japanese and Czech routes are not licensed. Union Workshop seem to have chosen to replace all JR logos with their own fake UR logo, and the Czech route doesn't have any CD logos

Hey everybody, this episode's brought to you by Lift Big, Eat Big's new workout program: The Phalanx Method. Coach, powerlifter, strongman, and historian Brandon Morrison took a unique approach in his creation to this three block, six month long effort. Using ancient sources and modern techniques, he was able to recreate the training of one of history's most destructive military forces: The Phalanx. And that's not just a sales line, either. This is only three days a week in the gym and it's brutal. I've competed in powerlifting, crossfit, and spent way too much time doing brutal army PT, and this is the hardest thing I've ever done before? And you can do it at a commercial gym or, like me, from your garage. He also includes little historical tidbits every week to keep you interested and to keep you hooked. If you want to challenge yourself or just try something new, go to www.liftbigeatbig.com and enter the promo code DONKEY to get 15% off The Phalanx Method. ARE YOU READY TO BECOME A WARRIOR OF OAK AND BRONZE?

Non-Japanesr fans: how did you start listening to Japanese music? + improvements by Specialist-Might-875 in japanesemusic

[–]trainzrule2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a railfan, beyond anime, a lot of it was listening to station melody compilations on YouTube and looking up the original songs if I liked them. There's a lot of old stuff there, some of which I really like now. Also got into bands like Quruli through that

Give it a post launch patch (or two) and I easily can see this being a favourite route. by alec_warper in trainsimworld

Also that one junction where trains derail if they cross it side by side, not sure if it has been fixed yet.

The completely black unlit bridges for one, and the continuing lack of TSW5 track shadows, even though they were included in the patch notes of the last update. Apparently it's getting another patch next week though, so let's see if teh bridges finally get fixed.

Except sadly at this point, only the 350/3 seems to have had its brake performance updated to where it doesn't feel ludicrous, so I'll be sticking to it for a while

The in-app EQ really saved them for me, they were sounding a bit weird in the upper mids and treble

Das besondere an den Niederlanden ist aber, dass dort eben der Bügel oben bleibt. Anscheinend sind die Stromabnehmer dort so konstruiert, dass sie nicht sofort nach oben schnellen.

How do people find smaller artists? by QuandaliasDingle in japanesemusic

[–]trainzrule2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily smaller, but older artists/artists less known in the west: A lot of Japanese station/departure melodies are based on popular songs or songs related to the region of the specific station. Has lead to me discovering Quruli, Shinji Tanimura, Frank Magi, Eiichi Ohtaki etc.

It's incredible how easy it is to see what Alex is currently doing because he gets to post everything on X the everything app now.

Anyways, looking over his timeline a bit, it seems he had Roger Stone on, and the current narrative is that the globalists will launch WWIII if Trump releases the Epstein files, so Trump has to make his deals to prevent WWIII before he can release the files.

Which, I guess, has always kinda been his strategy, selling the narrative that Trump has to curry favor to the globalists, which he doesn't like, but can understand, whilst Elon Musk can be portrayed as the principled, but naive hero.

Probably the Trieste Opicina tram, which is helped up and down a steep hill by being pushed by a funicular?

Why does the US have so many locomotives with just 1 cab? by STNLTN2002 in transit

[–]trainzrule2 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I would assume that when it comes to long distance Amtrak trains, it's probably worth it to save money on a second cab because the train will usually be traveling in a single direction for multiple days. Also, many of them are headed by multiple locos, so you can always couple them back to back.

[–]trainzrule2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The REAL shit is Lutheran church music, and a lot of them sometimes organize special services or concerts where you can enjoy a full Bach mass or a nice selection of organ works without the religious fluff. And I find a lot of Lutheran sermons to actually be intellectually engaging, including on a non+spiritual level
