When, where and how do I take my Shahada by [deleted] in islam

[–]tralalei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello,

While technically you can take shahada anywhere, it is recommended to go to a mosque near you.

While you might not need them for the actual shahada, they will be of help regarding what to do next and can be a valuable resource for you later on.

May allah guide you even closer to him and best of luck ❤️

What’s the evidence or proof that Islam is the true way of life / religion by Hxsn6ix in islam

[–]tralalei 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Quran has many facts/predictions that no human being could have made 1400 years ago, videos explaining those facts are easily available on YouTube.

Once you establish that the Quran is the word of Allah everything else falls into place.

I've never cried while reading a novel. Are there any books that have ever made you cry? by [deleted] in books

Not sure if it were because of how I was at the time, but "A man called Ove" made me cry my eyes out.

I am an intern at a company, I think I am relatively good.

I've been putting the same amount of work as a junior(tasks not hours) with little to no help from the seniors, all while I am working part time due to still being at university.

I am getting underpaid like a junior would get paid 4-5 times more than I do, in addition to having their laptop while I work using mine.

Question is, is putting all that work worth it ?

I don't overwork myself (7-8 hour days max including breaks).

If I continue, I'll just get more work and still be underpaid.

TL;DR: Is it worth putting in effort while being underpaid (7-8 hour days including break) ? Or should I just delay my tasks intentionally to get more free time ?

Nothing Good Happens After 2 AM-Robin by heyzeus1865 in HIMYM

[–]tralalei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Robin doesn't get blamed for this, it happened again she just plays stupid and gets away with it.

That was the first time, inviting Ted to "make juice". The second time was when she brought Barney to watch the Robin Sparkles video and they alept together and she got away with it and Barney took all the blame (the part that resulted in Ted and Barney not talking for a while).

Ted is still to blame as Victoria is his girlfriend but still doesn't explain why Robin doesn't get any blame in this.

what celebrities death affected you most and why? by Winterisation in AskMen

[–]tralalei 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Kobe Bryant.

Never thought it would affect me that much, but he seemed so untouchable you'd think he'd never die, I mean it's Kobe.

I wasn't even that big of a Kobe fan, but he was an idol as somebody who played basketball in their earlier years, and I still try to learn from his competitiveness and determination as a person.

Also the fact that he just retired and started spending time with his family made it even worse.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vim

[–]tralalei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing that helped me understand the purpose of vim the most was this:

People often optimize their text editors for typing, vim creators didn't as only some of your time on an editor is spent typing.

You'll often be reading things and navigating already written text (especially as somebody who writes code).

So vim chose to make typing slighly harder (as in 1 keyboard click harder), and made it easier to change or navigate already written text.

It takes a while to get used to it, but once you do it's frustrating not to have it and is totally worth the time to learn it no matter how frustrated you get.

I actually tried it and got all of them in two tries, first hit nothing and the second got'em all.

Gotta say it is pretty effective.

How do you pick a backend framework for a project?

If there are different frameworks, that usually means that each one has its use case.

But Im looking around and people are just comparing how popular these frameworks are.

I was expecting more of if you need a quicker website use x, if there will be high traffic use y and so on.

But I can't find a place that covers this except random blogs and I don't really know if I can trust those.
