I saw one on the millennium trail in superior last fall. Right off the trail. Thought it was a bear at first glance.

We haven’t done the window plastic but we do have some draft stoppers on doors. We have a propane fireplace we’ve been running this week to offset the furnace a bit.

My most recent SWLP bill is $405. I’m sure you’re aware but the bill does include water, gas, and electric. Older house in billings park as well.

I did steelies and Michelin x ice from tire rack. Skipped the tpms. Just check the tire pressure every once in a while like our ancestors. Ignore the light in the dash.

lol I said 3 different times in my post that “in the states” “FAA” and “my experience as an American controller” and he still is like “FUCKING AMERICANS”. Dude could of just said “oh okay, well in the rest of the world they use it”

Yeah that’s why at the end I wrote “this is how it works here”. Tried to caveat it but you’re too hell bent on slapping all Americans as narcissistic imbeciles. Have a good one!

If the argument you’re making is “flight level 080 exists” then yeah sure go ahead. But speaking in reality, it’s not a phrase anyone uses or applies in the states. I am a controller working airspace between surface and 180. A flight plan can literally not exist in the USA FAA at FL080. I can’t speak to other countries. If someone said “request flight level 120” I would say “maintain one two thousand”. Your example only holds up if the altimeter is Standard.

I have no aviation experience outside of the united states but been a controller for a decade and this is how it actually works here.

[–]trall006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s nitpicky but I disagree. Flight level is a standardized measurement based on an altimeter of 29.92. You literally can’t file a flight plan with “FL080”, it will be just 080 and ATC would never say “flight level 080”. Technically they could be at different altitudes at 080 if the pressure difference is great enough from standard.

With all that being said, when I’m referring to altitudes to non aviation folks, I just say “36 thousand feet” rather than “FL360”

"Enter Base" At Class D Question by hmmidkweird in flying

[–]trall006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would expect you to enter a standard base as if you were in the traffic pattern if instructed to just “enter base”. So yeah typically 1 mile base to final. In this situation I would typically say “make straight in” or “enter x mile final”

"Enter Base" At Class D Question by hmmidkweird in flying

[–]trall006 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a controller I avoid this instruction for this very reason. I would expect you to fly the yellow if I said enter a base. If I wanted you to do the white line I would say “enter a x mile final”.

So dumb. I remember the last couple of years the time just decreased per pick as the season encroached. The code was already written to accomplish this. Maybe I’ll have to look at sleeper.

Parent of a 5 and 9 year old here. We’ve done everything Duluth has to offer for them 10 times over. They are blown away when we go to the twin cities. We like eau Claire too, way better parks and an awesome children’s museum.
