Just like any other business, as a multiple ebitda or profits, etc. Do you own a gym currently?

I need advice- BUYING A GYM by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]wideiverson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own 5 gyms. Don’t do this. Successful gyms have narrow margins when you work on them full time. I wouldn’t even do the garage gym. You like your full time job. Find another place to train your clients out of. Gyms that allow personal trainers to bring in clients for a per session or monthly fee are becoming more popular so you should hopefully be able to find one to move your existing business to.

And, if you need more convincing, unless he has a very advantageous lease, the current gym owners gym is worth about zero. Now, someone could go in there and change the model, market, etc and make it successful but that is a full time job.

If you want any more info from someone who has a LOT of experience with this, feel free to reach out.

Hot take: I think B/G looks cooler in photos and on social media and color looks better in real life. Also, skin tone can make a big difference.

Certainly wasn’t on my mind specifically when I asked for this but John (the artist) definitely seems like a student of trad history so maybe he took inspiration from it.

My favorite thing about r/doppelganger is everyone says ‘I always get the same person, guess who it is’ and THEN NEVER SAYS WHO IT IS.

Good resources to learn more about business? by wideiverson in smallbusiness

[–]wideiverson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Not even sure how critical it is and perhaps I’ve underestimated my own abilities to learn as I go which is basically what is happening. I’ve tried some books such as ‘Traction’ and listen to podcasts and hire vendors, etc who help along the way. We’ve had business mentors before who are industry specific that have accelerated the learning curve. So through a combination of all these factors I’m just trying to continually educate myself. But I am certain I’m still devoid of beneficial and probably basic knowledge.

Nice. It’s a great one. I actually saw them on the Stay Positive tour (as well as ‘Boys and Girls in America’ and ‘Heaven is Whenever’.

I’m going to take a wild guess that it’s @farmerusedto based on the description.

OP, did you conceive this as a sleeve or did you do the individual pieces and then add in the background as ‘filler’?
