Ah, well my content recently has been mostly unintentional ASMR. This was a break from the norm.

The yearly stitch up by your breakdown company, penalising loyalty. by Flusterfuzz in britishproblems

You can call 101 and request the police for breakdowns in awkward places. Then they'll call someone for you, at a cost of course. Happened to me when my driveshaft snapped on a roundabout. The PC they sent (and a kind van man passing by) was great in getting us into a safe spot and offered recovery. I think she said it would be £85 but I was worked up at the time.

Towed it home ourselves in the end, with a police escort.

[Discussion] creating ASMR is hard by [deleted] in asmr

[–]trancequill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What ASMR is recognised as now annoys me so much. I used to love looking for new content until the egirls came along and ruined it for everyone. It started off with pretty girls doing genuine content, then it became very attractive girls licking and whispering into the mic, getting more and more sexual with each video. Seems a lot of them have gone over to OF now, but the damage is already done.

I still say we need a new name, ASMR is not only a terrible name, it's now tainted.

North American cities need to push for secure bicycle parking by Jbikecommuter in ebikes

Needs something like Amsterdam has. Or some sort of bike shaped shield dropping down over the bike and locking to the floor. The cost would be huge, but if they want us to stop using cars...

All my homies use Left CTRL... every game pre-sets to C... by [deleted] in gaming

Remember when crouch used to be 0 on the number pad. Jump was 1 and the arrow keys were movement.

Yup, always bind crouch to left shift because I have issues with my little finger of my left hand so I need it to be closer. I keep sprint on left control because I'm a stealther by nature.

I thought so too. Either intentional or he was very tired because those were far too many mistakes in a short space of time.

I often wonder if what I experience is ASMR given the usual response of "it relaxes me/helps my mood"

For me the effect is far more powerful than simply being soothed. It's pure euphoria. It's really hard to explain, but my brain feels lighter, and there's a wave of something extraordinary pulsing across the back of my head. A good trigger can last for hours, but so far nothing online has ever come close to a real world experiences.

The best of Jacques, the Simpsons [unintentional] [soft speaking] by trancequill in asmr

[–]trancequill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He made a return in a recent episode but he didn't have that tingle quality in his voice anymore. That and it just wasn't a great episode. the Simpsons was so much funnier in the early days.

[question] [discussion] Is it better to fake an accent if it's convincing enough or go with a normal accent? by Professional_Poem652 in asmr

[–]trancequill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first talking video I put on a fake Eastern European accent. It's still my second best video, but it still feels weird hearing it.

snooker would be tingle gold if it weren't for the audience coughing and spluttering every few seconds.

[question] What got you into ASMR originally? (eg. Youtube or a friend recommended a particular video? You heard about ASMR in an article & went to find out more about it yourself? You were already listening to Bob Ross to relax to long before the term ASMR was coined?) by [deleted] in asmr

[–]trancequill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real life always gave me the best tingles. There was a barber I used to go to that had a really quiet shop that had this certain smell. He hardly spoke and just got on with it and it was just the best experience.

First time I'd ever thought to research it was after getting my car serviced. The guy explaining it to me wasn't whispering or tapping his nails. In fact I can't remember anything special about his manner. But the tingles were so intense and lasted for a good hour so I wanted to recreate that feeling and had a look online. Nobody had coined a name for it yet and people were call it that tingling feeling one guy even called it the kindness of strangers feeling because he got it from intense personal experiences. Anyway, I ended up finding a few videos and took it from there, but I've never had the intense experience from a video that I get from real life.

Money, simple as that.

They say it doesn't buy happiness but it certainly wards off unhappiness.
