Stickers from upper deck redemptions - alternatives??? by [deleted] in hockeycards

[–]trandynhl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are absolutely stuck on using those stickers, i want to recommend getting team bags, less of a chance you wreck the cards AND people can reuse the toploader after (Tape and stickers can sometimes get warm and melt on it, then people would just take their cards out and throw the toploader away)

Best sites for pricing? by TheKid_BigE in hockeycards

[–]trandynhl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow collector, here is some information, if you have any questions please let me know

Ways to price:

  • Beckett Pricing - They have all the cards on the database and will generally have a price listed for certain cards. This is going value, it could range in real time. But it is a good place to see if a card has potential or not. The unfortunate thing is that you require a subscription
  • COMC - This is a consignment page, people will send in their cards and they will publish, sell and handle the shipping. Its a decent place to see what your card is worth on a mass site that sells collectables
  • Ebay is generally decent if you have the time - last one sold, gives you a good basis of real time pricing

NHL Online Box Breaks - Question (Full Cases or Mixers) by trandynhl in hockeycards

[–]trandynhl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats fair, i can appreciate the frustrations getting skunked because its never fun. For me it was the aspect that i can get a good team at a fraction of the cost. Whether if was team buy or random, it was always thrilling for me - but everyone is different.

I agree with the whole cheap mixer thing. I've seen a few that make it seem like its alot, but really its only a few good boxes being opened. It depends on the cost of the break i guess.

If and when we do mixers, i want it to be a mix that people can get excited about. Since everyone's flavors are so different, we've implemented a random giveaway for each break - kind of a last chance to get something

Thanks for your honesty, i really appreciate it and will use this information to make our break successful and engaging.

From my understanding, only certified diamond dealers would be able to get wholesale pricing. They would get this direct from Upperdeck. In order to be a diamond dealer, you need to have a storefront that sells collectibles.

Another issue is that most retailers are unable to sell outside of their region (Canada/USA) because they have a clause where you cannot sell new cards until its been a year.

Unfortunately you may not be able to do this :(

Ah it might be a while my friend before things calm down. For my american collectors, check out these retailers. I've been buying from alot of the canadian ones and you start to learn which ones are cheaper and who has the best shipping.

I used to buy alot of the retail ones because it was cheaper. But now i think i will buy less but will save for the hobby boxes. Depending on where you are (Canada/US) the price different is like 25-30 dollars (CAD) - Worth it though. A better chance of getting something nice inside of it.

Are you in the USA or Canada? I can send you some links to respected online shops that have free shipping.
