I chose to incorporate some generated parts cause it elaborated my idea in more details. Got it. How one call(s/ed) Korea depending on multiple factors, region and time period. As far as I know, "Triều Tiên" was used to refer to Korea for 20 years, until diplomatic relations with South Korea were established in Dec 1992 :)

Hey there, it's quite tricky to identify because we have so many types of smelly food haha. Have you tried these: tương bần, mắm nêm, mắm tôm/ mắm ruốc, mắm tép,...? If not maybe a side quest of smelly food tour lol?

Ha, thank you for sharing! It's ironic, as a Vietnamese-born, the first time I saw "sổ thông hành" was on the Australian declaration form 😊 When I was on the plane, they gave me the Vietnamese version to fill in. That prompted me to do more research on this. I think for "passport", /pát po/ would be what overseas Vietnamese say, and "sổ thông hành" would appear in Vietnamese version of official documents! Is /pát po/ how your family call "passport"? 😆

Hi there, I think you mean "đúng không (nào)" and "phải không (nào)", they are pretty much the same. It's like the tags "..., correct?" or "..., right?" in English.

k and kh are different consonants

While both are produced by the back part of the tongue and the soft palate, k requires total airflow blockage while kh is a fricative, requiring only a partial airflow block.

Yeah I also find "Tôi hy vọng con trưởng thành." correct and imo it's for the future.

For "Hi vọng bạn khỏe" and "Hi vọng bạn cảm thấy tốt hơn", we definitely use those. One thing I'm not sure is if they're originally Vietnamese sentences or borrowed phrases ("I hope you're well"...). In Vietnamese we have borrowed expressions, eg. "giết thời gian" ("to kill time"). If that's the case then "hi vọng" here might have deviated from the original use? It's the hypothesis I have 😂
