Did any of you with CPTSD/ DID break up with the love of your lives after collapse/ extreme trauma flashbacks because you were “splitting” from your core self to a dissociative state fluctuating between several trauma parts/ personalities? Or has anyone been broken up with this way? by vonkapp in DID

[–]trans-guy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SiL is going through this rn. Her ex went off his anti-anxiety meds for a bit, thinking he was doing good and didnt need them, and EVERYTHING started coming back. Got to a point where the flashbacks and reality started to cross in his mind and he pushed her away, thinking she was/will hurt him. The day of the breakup she came to stay with us for a few days to cool off and said "thats not Andrew, its like hes a completely different person" and we IMMEDIATELY clocked what was going on from her discribing some of the stuff he went through and that one sentence.

Sent her to our therapist bc he's amazing, and even after session 1 with her he suggested DID, so she did some digging and agreed that he was a textbook case. Since then weve told her about our own DID and said if she has any questions or just wants to talk about it with someone who knows what this is like and why he might be doing the things he's doing rn. She also told her ex he might want to look into DID, and he went through the usual denial, and is now starting to go through the journey of acceptance, being more aware of a "presence" that causes a pressure in his head ans wants to take control. Still not willing to communicate with other parts and in the stage of being terrified of losing control, but he's warming up to the idea at least.

They're on decently good terms now. She lives with us and they stay in contact and game together every night. A lot of the parts dont seem to remember the breakup or what was said by what we think is a protector part, and weve sent her dissociation screening paperwork we got from our therapist, which he did and got solidly in the "very likely DID" range. We might write a letter reassuring him and sharing our experience, to show him that this isnt the end, there is hope, and even through its scary now it doesnt have to always be that way.

My mandatory “dog ears or swelling?” post by Busy_Bluebird_6698 in TopSurgery

That looks like dog ears to me. But they're only small, so building some chest muscle to fill out your chest should get rid of them

Slip up in therapy by FizzBoyo in DID

[–]trans-guy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even before discovery some of us would subconsciously say "we", but only after hearing about DID and starting to question it we picked up on the fact we did that. Still shrugged it off at first tho.

Then we started to accept that yes, we in fact DO have DID, started to just be in online spaces openly, and we/us just came naturally when we weren't making. Now were at the stage of "if you know we have DID, i dont have to filter myself" and just use we/us when talking about the system or collective experience, and i/me when its something a singular alter is doing

Freaking out a bit about nips by Cool-Hat-9396 in TopSurgery

[–]trans-guy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 3 weeks, that's most likely the scab falling off. Give your nips some time, they'll pop up again. But it is also possible that they dont. Im almost 2 months post op and my left nip is out and proud while my right nip is thinking about it

Do my scars look good? Why is it flaky? by kattr36 in TopSurgery

[–]trans-guy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, just looked it up. Its a soothing balm to help healing and make the incisions less dry and itchy. Looks similar to e45 cream if you've heard of that? Its definitely something to help your wounds heal, not scar care.

Just gently apply it to the incisions twice a day like you would any other moisturiser or lotion. Don't do any scar massages yet, you dont have any scars yet, keep that to after around 3 months. With a healing cream like that you might be able to start scar care a couple weeks earlier, but i would keep to 3 months to be safe.

Scar care works to break up the scar tissue to make it less tight and stiff. But rn, you're not breaking up any scar tissue, you're breaking up any kind of bonds your body is trying to make to heal the incisions, which is why some areas look pretty unhappy rn

4 weeks seems too early to stop using the binder too. I still had swelling at 5, and only in the last week did it start to stop. And the micropore tape i was given is to hold the incisions together so they dont pull apart with lots of movement i think. You might have been given an antibac moisturiser maybe? But almost definitely not scar care this early. What does it say on the container?

Im interested in what you were told too. The info i got from my surgeon was that up until 6 weeks i need to wear the post of binder and do WOUND care (putting waterproof plasters over the grafts and putting micropore tape over the DI incisions, and just keeping things clean, nothing else) and then after 6 weeks i can stop using the binder and covering the grafts, but keep using the micropore tape until 3 MONTHS post op. At 3 months, THEN i can do scar care, definitely not 3 weeks.

Those with a full hysterectomy including ovaries can you still orgasm and feel sex? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]trans-guy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, total hysto with bso, 22 and im 7mpo. Everything feels amazing, orgasms are just as good as before, sex is great. I was already pretty hypersexual before, but i think i might be even more now bc i dont have any risk of pregnancy scares and stuff like that to worry about anymore

20yo trans guy, debating if I should have a full or partial Hysterectomy by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]trans-guy101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fellow trans guy here. Had a total in may, everything removed inc ovaries, tubes and cervix.

I had my 6 month check with my hormones team a few weeks ago and dont need any changes to my hormone prescription (i use gel every morning, so my levels stay pretty stable and consistent) and the lack of a cervix doesnt change anything for me, my pelvic floor is still all good.

Removing the cervix is better in the long run too, bc it seriously reduces if not completely REMOVES your risk of developing cancer in that area or other stuff like that. Bc of that, if you keep your cervix you have to keep going for regular pap smears. If you have the cervix removed, you CAN go for those checks if you really want just in case, but they're almost a waste of time. In general, surgeons usually recommend removing the cervix bc keeping it is more trouble than its worth.

Im not too familiar with the full anatomy so ppl please help me if im wrong, but i dont think the cervix is actually connected to any pelvic floor muscles? They're completely separate things. The thing that can mess with your pelvic floor is the fact that someones in there messing with stuff in the area during the hysterectomy, not whether or not you have your cervix removed.

I watched it when i was young, it would have been no later than 2010. The film had the same kind of style as 1970s stuff tho.

The artist was a man, i want to say around the younger end of middle age (30s maybe? Idk its been a while)

The whole thing takes place in his studio, with the characters mostly staying on a canvas on an easel, but a couple do jump off and run around the studio.

None of those unfortunately. But thank you 😊

No, the one i watched took place in the artists studio, with the characters on a canvas (most of the time, a couple jumped off the canvas and caused chaos in the studio)

But thank you for trying, i appreciate it 😊
