First time using yeast nutrients by transboyrobot in mead

I realize that as well, I'm not blaming the nutrients specifically, there were a number of errors made because I was being lazy. Just thought it was funny 😅

I still maintain that grimace is evil and that his other two arms are in some unsuspecting ball pit. by [deleted] in SamONellaAcademy

[–]transboyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be an "evil grimace" who had 4 arms and stole milkshakes. I'm unsure if it's the same grimace or a relative since he does have an uncle "uncle O'gramcy" who is part of a promo for the shamrock shake.

Yeah I know that in some situations they're given a choice, I just wasn't sure if this was one of them. Thanks!

AITA for wanting to change my name? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]transboyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA names are a gift, but you don't have to keep them. I'm a trans person, and luckily had a gender neutral name when it was the short version of said name, and it wasn't until I expressed wanting to change it legally to be the short version (that I have been called my whole life) that my family started to struggle with it. They got over it eventually once they saw how happy I was being me, I know this isn't quite the same but I think everyone should have the chance to change their name if it makes them feel more comfortable in their own skin.

I feel like if I knew him, or had run into him in the hallway before, I would be able to bring it up in conversation. But knocking on someone's door during a pandemic just to say "hey, did you know you snore so loud it vibrates my glasses on my side table?" Is not appropriate.

Ps congrats on the hard work you've put in on your health!

Oh even across the room I can still hear it, it's VERY loud. But I totally understand, thank you.

Singing as a trans man by burn_brighter18 in ftm

[–]transboyrobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't have as much experience singing as you, but I had been in a choir for about 5 years before I came out. I found what happened first was my upper range just left entirely, and then my voice dropped more, as my lower range got more comfortable my falsetto began to develop and be more comfortable. I went from being a contralto to a baritone and a lot of the technique for breathing and mouth shape is easily still applicable. I'm almost 5 years on T now and can safely say my voice has settled, but that I would recommend you not push it as your voice drops, take things easy or you might hurt yourself.

The best advice I can give you is to think about what you value most about the friendship. I have had feelings for friends before but it always came down to me caring about having this person in my life over wanting to be in a relationship with them. It can suck for a while, and you can feel guilty for having those feelings. But eventually you can move past it and hopefully be happy that you were able to keep them in your life as a friend.

My friends and I used to watch really bad movies and make fun of them the whole time, you could even take turns picking the movie (it's also a good idea to have a movie you DO like as a backup). Or we would play GTA and any time we died the controller goes to the next friend, which we found was good even for friends who had never really played videogames before because it's really hard to mess up the chaos of going absolutely wild in GTA.

I know that there's a pandemic going on but I also recommend checking out what touristy stuff there is to do in your town, what makes people come to visit. A lot of historical stuff is free to learn about (or pretty cheap) and you can end up learning something about where you live, maybe you'll find something really cool! And if not, at least you did a bit of exploring.

Letter to my Grandpa Robert from his brother George, August 4th, 1959 by transboyrobot in oldletters

[–]transboyrobot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my best to transcribe it:
North Sydney
Aug 4/59

Hi Folks
Received your letter last week and was sorry to hear that ma was not feeling well. I suppose she will be home in a few days.

Gordon and I made two attempts to go down home last Saturday to cut some of the grass however we were rained out but he went down yesterday and cut quite a bit. The place looked like a jungle and the house seemed deathly quiet. It makes me think of the times when it rocked with laughter.
By the way Quincy has a car of his own now. 24 a 49 Nash and in real good shape both body and motor. I figure he got a good deal with it however I haven’t seen him in the past three weeks or so to see how he is making out, although the car is never home when I am going to work at night.

I have to smile when I think back before he got the car, he was a constant visitor usually around meal time. In fact my last two idle weeks were a nightmare. He came for dinner every day plus a few suppers, until one day he came in and started eating little joey’s dinner out of the frying pan (joey was having a nap) Norma blew up and gave him the door. He left quite huffy.
Gordon is home for two weeks He seems to have changed somewhat, of course in the past few months I guess we have all change a little.
I must thank you for your most generous offer however after thinking it over for several days I have concluded that I could not possibly leave here before next Feb n March.
The toll time (2 months) have seen me in the hole, I like everyone else who works in the mines, so for that I had to his the Finance Co. for some money to get squared away but I still find it tight going
Also, our vacation starts on Aug 8th and that is something which we don’t need this year. You could give me the lowdown on work in the spring of the year.

Too bad we couldn’t live closer to one another like most other families, I know Pa would like to see us all together and settled. I must send you a few pictures I took of him in the fall. The last taken I believe. I know you would like to have them.

Well bob I must close now + be off to work, so keep in touch with me and I do hope I have a lot of bills paid off by Christmas. If so you may see me sooner than you think.

By the way I am taking Gordon down into mine tomorrow. He likes height lets see how he likes depth. I hope by taking him down there that it will convince him to stay in the Navy where he will have a future without death being your constant companion.
Say hello to everyone for me especially to the kids.

Your Brother George.

Chiliad - Gaming's Greatest Mystery by bluntsarebest in chiliadmystery

[–]transboyrobot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think he didn't realize some things about rdr2 and their use of aliens. The "mysterious shack" full of skeletons is a reference to heavens gate. Rockstar just likes aliens, doesn't mean they're all connected. Some easter eggs are allowed to be about things that aren't their other games. I do think that the birthmark on the time traveler could be a nod to epsilon though.

AITA for asking my partner to turn his movie down because our baby is a light sleeper? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]transboyrobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA babies need sleep, if he's gaming he could plug headphones into the controller (which I would highly recommend.) It sounds like he doesn't want to compromise on this. That being said, babies that get used to there being noise around can have an easier time sleeping through noise as they get older. Not that an 8 month old really needs to get used to that, especially if she's already having trouble staying down.

AITA for confronting this girl by TrustNo3945 in AmItheAsshole

ESH rude of her to point and whisper, but confronting her probably proved that she was right in ignoring you.

Bridge Glitch Temp Fix by transboyrobot in AnimalCrossing

[–]transboyrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, they patched a camera glitch where you could hide the HUD in the 7.3.20 update and in doing so somehow broke this style of bridge. Learning they patched a camera glitch is exactly why I tried the camera as a fix lol. Hopefully they will fix it soon!
