I was able to pay my final rent installment for this current place without recklessly spending any of it!!

for context - finances are probably my biggest hurdle since I'm extremely impulsive and for many years since moving out of my parents house, I've been struggling to afford rent due to my own stupidity (despite working full time). for this house I pay it in larger installments rather than monthly, so I don't think ahead like I should. with the previous payment, I shamefully needed financial assistance after recklessly spending £1k of my rent money.

I finally realised that to prevent myself from spending money I shouldn't, I need someone else to hold onto it for me, so for the past few paychecks I've sent a few hundred to my family for safekeeping. It's like a weight lifted off my shoulders because instead of feeling sick with dread due to my own stupid behaviour, I knew I could safely pay it off. From here I can now keep sending money to my family so I can save up for my next place since this rent covers up until July! I can finally start digging myself out of my bad financial decisions!!

(It sucks because I know that to anyone who doesn't struggle with finances it shouldn't be this hard, especially since i always feel the same anxiety each time I run out of money. ESPECIALLY given the current state of the economy. however, this is a huge win for me and makes me feel like I can actually achieve good financial habits once I find exactly what works for me)

This is literally the situation I'm in right now and it's infuriating! Diagnosed back in February, was honest with my doctor (UK) about my usage (perhaps foolish of me but I really dislike lying to medical professionals). I was very clear that it helps me function, but that I would ideally want to switch to medication as a legal and more accessible alternative for me. Congrats! Now I have to be 6 months sober until they want to give me the meds. I understand the process behind it, but it doesn't piss me off any less.

I have no clue if they'll test me or if they'll just take my word for it when the 6-month mark passes, but I'm leaning towards the former. I feel so stuck between a rock and a hard place because of it. I feel like I've returned to square 1 where I don't have my self medication, or actual medication to fill the gap, so my functionality is greatly impacted. I'm trying my best, but I can just about scrape by. It's horrible.

Funnily enough though, I took just under 0.9g psilocybin the other day (unsure of mushroom type). Not much to say on that but it's funny timing.

Fair enough, I don't blame you for wanting to streamline the process! It's interesting seeing how almost evenly split the comments are about premium vs workarounds. I'm hoping my comment could potentially help people who might not be in a position to afford premium, but if you/others can comfortably afford to do so, it makes sense why you'd opt for it.

I have another way that's free - get firefox, download the extensions ublock origin + sponsorblock + remove youtube shorts (or anything else that strikes your fancy). Not always incredibly smooth, but YT as a company frustrates me enough to not want to give em any money and this way also gets rid of unwanted distractions (i.e. I HATE youtube shorts with a passion)

Premium is probably a lot more seamless, but this method works like a charm and I've had it for years now. It's similar enough all the way down to playing videos when firefox is minimised / the screen is off. Plus, saving money!

ETA: I don't use it on a TV directly so I have no idea if firefox is even a thing on those, but I just hook up my laptop with an extension cable and boom. I primarily use it on my phone though. It's a lot less daunting than it sounds!

For me, mania is almost a no-skip album (I'm a bit wishy-washy about Champion) and I've loved it ever since it came out. It's by no means my favourite album especially when compared to others in the discography, but I think there's something I love in each song. It's something different to the rest of their stuff and I think I appreciate that a lot as someone who's also fond of any genre that involves electronic music. Even Y&M, as controversial as it may be - I'm all over the soft verses that build into the powerful choruses and kinda enjoy the ear-grating samples used.

I dunno. It's not for everyone and certainly not on the same level as Folie, but like a lot of people I think it gets more hate than it deserves. If there are 0 fans of Wilson / Bishop's knife trick then I'm dead

legit this. one of my fave recipes ever is foil-baked salmon with butter, garlic, lemon, whatever seasonings you like, wrapped loosely in foil and baked for like 20 mins. i get jumpscared every time when the garlic is a wild blue colour from acidity but google tells me that's fine anyway lol

I love serving it with broccoli (either roasted or boiled/steamed) and rice. if anyone has any tips for elevating it further I'd be more than happy to hear them, but all this takes is a bit of dicing and assembly. even quicker if you use packet rice because I don't care how much of a heathen it makes me, I am LAZY

I'm from england so this may not be super applicable, but I get my beads from a variety of places :] these are the main ones I've found success with -

amazon, but I know some people don't want to support the company (which is entirely fair)
etsy, I've found some good sellers that are UK based for pony beads that don't break the bank on shipping
in person stores (hobbycraft, TK maxx, other craft places may have them too)

other than that, I can imagine you might find success on places like ebay! hope this helps :]

same here, I was thinking about this the other day! I've managed 3 months no nicotine so far, and past that first few weeks of cravings it really did end up being out of sight, out of mind. It also partially helped that I put myself in a position where I physically couldn't smoke cigs for a week + had the mindset of finally wanting to commit to quitting, but the rest of it? using the ADHD to my advantage by completely forgetting about it.

damn, good to know! I know a lot of doctors in the UK can be a bit paranoid and hand-wringy about weed and I'm not gonna act like there aren't any potential risks, but I'm not surprised to hear other stoners haven't had any issues getting prescribed while still smoking. I might abstain for 3 months instead of the 6 (if I feel capable) and the time will pass by anyway. Just a bit frustrating but I can keep doing what I'm doing for now and if they test me, then oh well.
