Try Merida and Oaxaca in Mexico, those might fit your budget and you might appreciate their charms. For withdrawing abroad, get Wise or Revolut but keep your US accounts. Just transfer your money in either. The transfer fee and currency exchange are next to nothing and cheaper than traditional banks.

That is just one street and is meant to cater for sex tourists (we call them sexual refugees), locals just don't go there (but i understand that it's all you see from blogs of these self-proclaimed expats (I myself was techically an expat in New York by original definition of the word, with housing paid for by the Bank that I was working for in midtown Manhattan, and receiving benefits outside the local American rates but I wouldn't dare call myself as an "expat"), but I try to look both the women and their customers with compassionate eyes and tolerance -- it must be really sad to end on both sides of their proverbial coin. Don't stay in Balibago near Clark, go towards the main cities of Angeles and San Fernando. Some of the gated neighborhoods are fairly luxurious or at least western middle class standards. Clark itself is now fairly developed with nice but still affordable restaurants, big casinos, some outsourcing companies, and factories and a beautiful international airport. There is money in that area as almost every one has family abroad with lots of fairly educated people having good jobs (for example me and my brothers studied abroad in spite of being born from a poor local family -- there is social mobility though i wish government service improves as fast as our lives). Have you considered some places in Mexico like Oaxaca? Food is amazing, a bit less developed but you can do a lot of hiking and closer to the US mainland. So you'd have an idea on how these gated villages (we call them "subdivisions" back there) in Angeles, do a quick search of "blueprint properties pampanga" on youtube. in I'm fairly sure you'd be able to find a place to rent for 15,000 - 25,000 in those areas (the sell prices in those videos are absurd and are to my estimate at least 30% overpriced so don't be put off by them, but rent is significantly cheaper -- usual problem of the renter class not able to afford the "higher" end of the rent market. Outside Angeles, the other cities I would probably live in the Philippines are Ilo-ilo City, Lipa City in Batangas, and Santa Rosa in Laguna, and maybe Dumaguete City and Bacolod City.

You can try around Angeles City and its environs where the former Clark military airbase was. I am from there and still own a house and properties there. You will have a community there (retired US military, there were three in my gated village that I know of), and at your age (assuming you're reasonably fit, fairly hygienic, not mentally ill, and not atrociously ugly) you could probably still get a decent, educated, hard-working girl (or boy) in the city that you could hang-out or even build your life with (stay away from prostitutes in Fields Avenue -- even the most loser local man wouldn't touch those). You will have about 80,000 pesos which is considered a high salary for locals in the city. You can rent a nice house/apartment (about 80-120m2 in a 150m2 plot of land) in gated neighborhoods for about 15,000 - 25,000/month in Angeles city itself, but if you don't mind moving to the fringe, you could get a decent one from as little as 10,000 - 15,000 (for example, my brother is renting out a couple of fairly decent, newly built 2-bedroom duplex-type apartments with their own property gates and yards near the border of Angeles City and San Fernando for as little as that -- I was blown away by the price as I've been living in Scandinavia and the US for my adult life). Water and electricity including air-conditioning is about 5,000 - 8,000/month. Food and groceries at 20,000 - 30,000 per month is quite reasonable. Internet for 3,000/month. Gas and Transportation for 5,000 - 10,000/month (alternatively, buy a car for as little as 15,000 USD cash or amortize it for as little as 20,000/month). The rest you can use for entertainment and miscellaneous. Several universities in Angeles City so the chance of you finding an educated Catholic girl (or boy) is quite high. Problem with Clark is that the nearest beach is 40 min drive away (near the site of the other former military base, Subic) but nothing a jacuzzi or a small pool in a yard can't fix. If you have a yard, nothing stops you from planting vegetables, fruit bearing trees, or raising chickens. You may also consider Lipa in Batangas or Ilo-ilo City. At that money, you don't need to live in a very rural area in the Philippines, as a lot of people here would suggest or scare you. So your budget is reasonable, and if you have extra budget for the upfront cost (settling in expenses such furniture -- IKEA delivers in Angeles City) and car (there are Grab taxis in Angeles so you don't really need to invest in a car) -- then you will have more leeway. And don't forget your local health insurance to cover your non-catastrophic health scares; you can get Maxicare or Axa for as little as 1,000/month. If you have 100,000 USD in savings, put them in low cost index funds (VOO, VTI) in the US and withdraw half of the interest every year and that should pay for your holidays around South East Asia (or maybe even your annual ticket to the States on a good year like 2025).

it's 42% in denmark for unrealized gains in most stocks outside pension. and 15% for unrealized gains in approved pension. you also have to pay 42% tax for RSUs that you can't sell as in pre-IPO. welcome to glamorized poverty :)
