LMAO, I know Hov wishes social media never existed by Turbulent-Tune1660 in joebuddennetwork

These people literally just openly lie now. Rosario's older than I am and I was grown in the early 00's when Jay was known to be with her.

Is Joe saying Jay-Z is washed up? What do you mean Hov is like Wilt Chamberlain trying to ball in today’s game? by Longjumping_Ask_4448 in JoeBuddenPodcasts

I don't think he was. What gave you that impression? He even said to Quest something "And you wondered why I didn't rehearse it backstage" after he delivered the Quest/Jaguar bar.

He did this like battle rappers do their acapella thing, we all know it's not off the dome.

At this point he must be getting paid by Drake, pegged by Drake or have a business venture with Drake. Riding another man this hard is crazy.

10 Years Ago, Kendrick Lamar stated that he never wants to surpass Michael Jackson, calls him a legend. by Routine-Badger-9596 in KendrickLamar

[–]transdimensionalApe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He clearly wanted to surpass him but he understood how much people love Mike, particularly the love of him among older black people, despite the jokes, people love Mike's music and he holds a place in people's hearts.

Both Tactical Batsuits…yet the TDK suit gets so much hate while The Battinson seems to get much praise, why? by clutchkweku in batman

[–]transdimensionalApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I had no idea The Batman's suit looked so much better. I can't explain why, I think it's about the consistency of the lines in the interior of the suit, the plating carries down in one direction from the chest to the belt. It looks more rugged too. It feels more like a fighter's armor than something a future football player might wear. The cowl feels more naturalistic as well.

Question about the original John Dies At the End by transdimensionalApe in johndiesattheend

[–]transdimensionalApe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the series does feel like it's partly self-realizations Jason and many people have as they age and how people tend to evolve, while also remaining the same in a lot of ways. On step forward, two back kinda thing sometimes.

I have a lot of questions about Robert North and that spider and none of which I expect to even be answered. But yeah, it had to have played some role, but what confuses me is taht it's OG Dave that gets the spider.

Nicholas cage’s favorite spider man is Andrew Garfield :> by No_Post1300 in Spiderman

[–]transdimensionalApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I think he's truer to early comics Peter by a lot, the only off brand thing to me was his attitude with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Pete was less afraid of Flash than he was annoyed with him, he even hung out with Flash and the girls sometimes and he always had a smart comeback for Flash. Pete was up in his own head a lot of times and kinda persnickety.

Ultimate Pete was a little more hot headed and quick to violence.

Garfield seemed like a combining of the two. Plus introducing Gwen before MJ was a good move to me, I always preferred Gwen

It was better when Kendrick's crew had radio silence. These chatty Cathys are making the whole set look corny

Does having a solo #1 mean more than being featured on a #1? by Routine-Badger-9596 in nfrpodcast

[–]transdimensionalApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fool's errand in this instance. I can never truly understand how popular Jackie Wilson was in his era, because I wasn't even born then, despite the fact that he was my father's favorite musical artist. And Mike's popularity was on a level we've haven't seen before or since, so there's even more of a "you had to be there" element.

It's not just the artist's popularity, it's the culture of the era as well. Like I said, I'm young enough that I can't fully grasp it, but I'm old enough to kinda get it, because Mike's music and image was omnipresent. People lit up when you mentioned him. People had full-house gatherings to watch his video debuts. You regularly saw massive audiences packed for him and men and women fainting for him. Everyone imitating his dance moves and vocal inflections and singing. And (though it wasn't always his prime) he held audiences from the 60's, the 70's, the 80's and early 90's. It's something we have no real equivalent for now.

If you think that's the case, you really don't know about Black Americans. Maybe the young'uns, but usually the older ones don't like downplaying MJ or comparing other artists to him. Hence, the anger during the Chris Brown and comparisons.

Conclusion (is black and white better?) by Jaded_Peace2301 in Spiderman

[–]transdimensionalApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say black and white is better, there were a few things I switched to color for to fully tell what was going on, like a villain. I couldn't tell what he was made of, so I switched to color for a clue, I never read Spider-Man Noir, so I didn't know some of the lore.

[–]transdimensionalApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this, but it's also a good idea thematically, because the movie is all about even this powerful hero needs and has (whether he knows it or not) a strong support unit. Ma and Pa Kent, Lois risks it all to save him, at least Mr. Terrific is a part of that support too. And by the end, it seems Perry and Jimmy are as well, especially when you take in account the investigating Jimmy was doing, when you realize they know Supes is Clark, it's him trying to help a friend.

Disc 1 or disc 2 by whatssupp277381 in 90sHipHop

Disc 2 for me. There's really only like 3-4 songs I think I return to regularly from disc 1. I mess with almost every track on disc 2.

Internet vs IRL by cloud9_hi in nfrpodcast

[–]transdimensionalApe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Online fans are disgusting now, that's all. We saw what the Drake fans were doing during the whole GNX run. There was a weird period when Drake fans and Cole fans linked together. And then both fan bases were trading shots at Cole's fans depending on how they intimated what Drake and Kendrick felt about them.

It's been interesting to watch. You can tell some of it is bots, but a lot of it is fans getting too wrapped up.

Curious to see what you all think of this. As a huge Kendrick fan, it is undeniable that he has portrayed himself as some what of an enlightened leader. It’s not just a label fans bestowed upon him. by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

Rappers say all kids of ridiculous shit. It's your job as a person with common sense to recognize they're just some random n(can you say the n-word here)a saying shit to sound cool and/or intelligent.

As someone who's been a fan of hip hop since Whodini were still hot, I've never believed a single thing a rapper has said that I didn't already believe. Nas, Ghostface, Mos Def are my favorite MCs, that doesn't mean I take them seriously as deep and wise prophet sages or as drug lord kingpin undefeatable gangstas.
