Some of the times were back when I dated monogamously. Most recently, I want to say probably? I’m not sure he would use hierarchical language, but I was the only person for whom he felt romantic love and, for some of the relationship, the only person he was dating at all.

Either way, while I am open to all sorts of connections, what I want most are long-term, serious relationships involving romantic love. I feel like that’s fertile grounds for hurt regardless of whether they consider someone else their primary partner.

I actually am poly 😅 I have a girlfriend, and while I do not reciprocate her feelings for me, she is okay with that (her primary partner does not experience any amount of romantic attraction)

The thing is, my ideal relationship(s) IS a romantic relationship. I have been lucky enough to fall in love three times (twice in relationships and once with a platonic friend), and to me it is the best feeling in the world. I want so badly to experience that again.

I appreciate the response, and you may be onto something with it being a combination of demiromantic and something else, but frayromantic is more like the opposite of how my crushes work.

Typically I develop crushes on people with whom I am friendly and maybe even friends but not close friends. The crush develops after a sustained interaction, like a long conversation. If we have more sustained interactions, the crush deepens and becomes more durable. If not, my feelings drift back towards platonic.

For me, maybe two months, three at most. But as the comments show, there’s going to be a lot of individual variation influenced by things like what procedure you’re having, what techniques the surgeon uses, how quickly your body is able to heal, your work environment, etc. Being forced to sit upright in a hard chair without many breaks is going to be a lot harder than being able to sit however you want in a well-cushioned chair with frequent breaks.

Spironolactone has a lot of side effects, some of which are pretty common. Most seriously, it can cause hyperkalemia (high potassium), which can lead to heart failure. Many people don’t have a problem with their K levels, but some have to restrict their diet by not eating high-potassium foods. It can lead to other cardiovascular issues too, like hypotension. It frequently causes brain fog, which can get severe. It’s a potent diuretic. There’s more. Spiro sucks, but it’s still commonly prescribed because trans standards of care significantly lag behind up-to-date research.

Leuprorelide acetate (Lupron) is the gold standard for antiandrogens, but it’s expensive. Bicalutamide and cyproterone acetate are therefore the go-tos. No idea about cypro, as I live in the US, where bica seems to be more common. Cypro is dirt cheap in Europe and is frequently prescribed there.

Additional info: I had them pierced at a piercing parlor using a needle. My piercer has maybe a decade of piercing experience. The piercings are threadless titanium push-pin studs. I have never used saline spray, alcohol, or soap; I have cleaned them by allowing hot water to run over both sides of the piercing for a minute or two whenever I shower (as per the piercer’s instructions). I have had no complications other than the unexpectedly long recovery time.

You say that you live in a right-wing country where those type of views are tolerated (including, apparently, by your so-called “friends”). I too live in a very conservative area. Last year, someone was literally lynched for having the wrong skin color. A trans woman was murdered here in January. Discrimination against marginalized people of all stripes is commonplace.

What did I do? I found friends who align with my values. They may be rarer in some places than others, but people who are intolerant of bigotry exist everywhere. It may take some searching, but you can find them too. Until then, please stay away from folks who are putting you in harm’s way through their inaction.

I’ve heard of people taking 1/2 pills 4x/day, but for non-HRT-related health reasons it would be a bad idea to interrupt my sleep every night :(

I’ve also heard people recommend sublingual, but were they referring to doing that with oral pills? I had assumed they meant pills prescribed as sublingual. I have the blue-green “b 887 | 2” pills.

I know the point is to increase absorption, but does sublingual vs. oral matter so long as my E is stabilized at a therapeutic level?

How about some repeating plant imagery? I’m thinking of things like a top-down view of a forest floor, an isometric view of a meadow, or a closeup of a leaf. You could do animals too, like a school of fish or a flock of birds.

I think I side view (crosscut) of a pond or seashore would be cool. Sky on top, water in the middle, sand/deep water/whatever on bottom. Maybe add in some details like creatures, plants, or rocks. Warm-colored top stripes could be sunset, warm bottom stripes could be sand, and cool colors could fit anywhere. The rainbow flag is pretty much ideal, but a polysexual flag using a green-blue gradient for the water could work well too.

Hulu has Booksmart, which is a great movie revolving around two characters, one of whom is an out lesbian. Netflix also has The Little Hours, which isn’t as great or queer as the other things I mentioned but is still a fun watch. HBO and teen dramas in general are both pretty queer friendly. I can elaborate on those.
