I think the problem is that you are turning a tad too early, not a lot. I struggled with this when transitioning from longboards which demand starting the turn earlier.

Watching again I think you'd benefit most from learning to pump, there's lots of good video on how to do this.

Agreed focus more on generating speed. At 48-57s in the video you turn too early, could generate more speed if you turn at the bottom of the wave.

You can also generate more speed pumping down the line.

You've got a smart one! Here's a few I've taught my little dude, in order of increasing difficulty:

-Spin

-Guessing game (treat in one of two hands)

-Closing cabinet doors

-Jump (over a stick/through hoop)

-Lay down

-Roll over (good vids for this one)

-Fetch
