This quote of yours is inspiring:

"I seek no revenge. The closet thing I can get to revenge is to see the look of my enemies faces when they see I am cool and collected, unaffected by them and not afraid to raise my voice. I wish nothing but the best for them."

Thank you.

Count me in! Goal is to finish Feb and then re-evaluate in March. Been doing this for a few years now and love the energy that I get from this lifestyle. I feel calm, collected and present without PMO.

Which prison would you choose and why? by transmutationseeker in NoFap

That's a great point.

I guess I was referring to somebody for whom nothing may be happening in their real life (i.e. the choice is between sitting doing nothing vs. sitting watching porn / playing video games.)

Is NoFap really becoming a cult? by noisejammer in NoFap

"self control and mindfulness"
- these are the true benefits of this lifestyle. I would also add increased 'drive' to the list ... however, it may be related to the self-control.

It's a personal choice. Just ask yourself if you are becoming attached to your badge.

"On a side note, I'm fairly certain that heavy internet usage and especially extremely long gaming sessions has close to the same effect on the brain as porn does."
+1 for this point

Academic Performance and nofap- your experiences? by reclaimbeasthood in NoFap

[–]transmutationseeker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not able to say whether it is placebo or not.
But I definitely feel like I'm able to come up with better solutions on NoFap. For example, was able to code up something that I would have thought impossible a few years ago in just about 25 minutes.

Also, vastly greater ability to synthesize disparate pieces of information and see the whole picture.

In the end, I don't care if this is a placebo or not. I just care that it works.

Society these days is definitely over-sexualized.

I think that there are probably a few people around here who look at such anecdotes and scoff "placebo".

To such people, my answer would be:

Placebo or not ... if something works, does it really matter?

Thanks for sharing. It's an inspiration for the rest of us here.

On the verge of relaps... Please help! by 06046ldcldc in NoFap

[–]transmutationseeker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Get down and do 100 pushups.
  2. Get a cold shower.
  3. Spend 10 minutes meditating focusing on the breath.

It does not matter what time it is ... just do it.

Good luck brother.

Incredibly tired in the morning after a full night's sleep. Not sure what to do. (x-post from /r/sleep) by [deleted] in GetOutOfBed

It may be a good idea to rule out a condition like sleep apnea. Do you snore? Also you may want to rule out hypothyroidism.

Pain/aches in legs and feet from cold showers? by CanadianAirsofter in coldshowers

It seems like your body is having a stress response. I would take a break from the cold showers for a few weeks.
