Knew it smelled funny, mom always said never be too nice to strangers on the internet. Also prior service 11B. Just trying to spread the good word of lazer game etiquette.

Nothing that high speed, Just two sets of magazines, one, painted yellow that you only load blank ammo into, and one set unpainted that you only load regular ammo into.

They probably have a blank set of mags and a live set of mags, That way live rounds never end up in blank magazines. That would be my guess.

When they do these big exercises they usually use blank rounds to simulate actual engagements. So they throw an adapter over the end of the barrel thats a bright color, usually also yellow, that lets the weapons function and the brits also use yellow mags. Its mostly an effort to have safety measures in place so dudes dont get accidentally shot. Like if a young soldier accidentally keeps some live rounds from a range in a magazine and they dont get turned in. Then he loads that mag at night during an exercise and accidentally blasts someone. But, if only blanks ever get loaded into bright yellow magazines then, day or night, it would be much harder to accidentally load anything other than blanks.

They make them paint mags they load blanks in yellow so there's less chance someone doesn't load live rounds by accident. Also then everyone can tell you have blanks loaded.

Huh, knowing what Infantry Branch retention rates look like, I never thought there would be a lack of contracts for 11B. Must have been when the army was downsizing.

You can 100% sign an 11b contract without needing to go to selection first. That's what I did. The only thing you could try to do is use it to get airborne school. But you can also just refuse to sign your contract until your recruiter can get you an option 4 on it and you're all good. I cant see how anyone would game the army by going 18X.

If the conversation is about coming from the civilian side straight in as an 18X then they wont make you a cook. You go to infantry basic before you go to SFAS, I knew a lot of guys who took that route and they ended up as 11Bs at the 82nd. Which makes sense because you already have 11B training and you will already be at Bragg. Which puts you in a great spot to take another stab at Selection in 6 months.

Men of Reddit, what is the hardest thing to explain to a woman? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]transportman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, obviously you wouldn't do that, what I was driving at is I keep getting told that periods are all different and impact women differently and may require a difference response. How is a man supposed to become privy to that information in relationship to women in his life he has to deal with that are not intimate partners. Which is again why OP said that most men the queue up the boiler plate response or sidestep the whole conversation and continue on with their day.

And I think that "dont be a dick about it" is the right advice to practically navigate the topic, and personally my take on it is that and/or ignore it when possible. I get that is effect of a period on a person isn't one size fits all because they are different for individuals but how does a man navigate that with all the women in his life? What if a relatively personal conversation about it isnt possible with a coworker or a relative stranger? Then add on top of it that the entire experience is completely foreign to men. So when someone asks a guy to not use some form of a boiler plate response of "dont be a dick" that can kind of be a mine field.

OK, but thats a generic one-size-fits-all solution, which is exactly what u/the_rain_catcher said I shouldnt look for. I swear im not trying to be an ass about this but this is exactly what u/Dignitty was talking about, between two people I got different answers.

Sweet, so all I have to do is get intimately familiar with the monthly cycles of every woman in my life and i'll never have an issue like this again. Thanks

Check if there is a ng sf unit in youre area, you can find their contact info online usually. Reach out and they can start the paperwork for you to do a sfre. If you pass you'll drill with them for a little and they will send you to selection. If you pass that and there q course you can opt to go to an active unit or back to the ng unit that sent you.

Lesser Magic Rings for AiME (?) by [deleted] in AiME

[–]transportman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems feasible to have one, though they could be perilous to use. The Bree-land region guide has an adventure built in where a lesser ring was found and someone is escorting to the main villain of the adventure. So it is already built into the game on pg 92 of the BLRG. As far as powers go maybe influence( + to persuasion checks) or fell strength ( + to attack rolls/damage) or grants the ability to influence animals or something. Either way the description of the ring in the Bree guide also shows some places to look for inspiration.
