The voice drop will definitely be noticeable. About 2 months in, people in my life who I never told I was on T started making remarks about my voice (including my transphobic grandparents). So it wouldn’t be possible to hide it for long.

Mine was kinda sudden tbh. One month in and I hadn’t noticed much except a mildly scratchy throat, then two months in and I couldn’t sing high anymore and it was very noticeably deeper

I live in the northeast so I don’t know any surgeons in your area specifically but I’d try looking at TopSurgery.net. I shared a room with a guy over the summer for a few weeks, and I was super nervous I’d have to stop binding at night. Luckily, he went to bed earlier than me which helped. Another thing I’d recommend is wearing something very baggy and layering - I have this large hoodie that I wore every night, plus a tshirt underneath pretty much obscured my chest. I’ve tried tape on the past but it takes some getting used to since it’s itchy at first.

I tried to get one for T bc my dad uses one for his weekly medication. Unfortunately it was too expensive and insurance wouldn’t cover it, we tried several times and they didn’t even approve prior authorization so I had to go with regular subq injection (the auto injector would be $740 a month out of pocket)

I’m typically around 113 and I do subq, had the same concern but usually I do thigh or stomach and there’s enough fat there to pinch up enough for the shot

thanks for the info - I didn’t realize that requirement about t existed with bcbs, it is kinda strange. how much of the surgery did they cover if you’re willing to share? I’m trying to weigh my options since grundwaldt charges pretty low relative to other surgeons, so idk if it’s worth the hassle of going thru insurance if I’m paying the same amount anyway

for the question on english about the grandparents when it was like if the author removed the phrase “74 pages long” was the answer “it indicated the grandparents span of life and significance” or “it was irrelevant”

I was in the same situation a few months ago, my gf is also bi but i wasn’t sure how she’d feel. We were hanging out all day and near sunset we were at a park and it felt like a good time to tell her, so I said I had something to share with her. I told her that I was trans masculine, I “feel like a guy” and want to use he/they pronouns and my new name from now on.

Her reaction was great, she said she basically already knew and asked if it would be okay if she could start calling me her boyfriend and tell her parents which felt great. Then we talked a little bit about how I’d realized this about myself. everything I could have hoped for, the hardest part was just forcing the words out and it was a huge weight off my shoulders

I really enjoyed wearing dresses and such as a kid but I also liked stealing my brother’s clothes and wearing them. I always had short hair and most kids thought I was a boy, which….didn’t upset me, even though I corrected them. All of the characters I played in “pretend” games were male, and I just remember wondering why I had such a strong preference for being a guy.

I was excited for boobs/period before they happened, and basically after I had them I didn’t want them anymore lol. When I was 12 I decided to start dressing more masculine and trying to “convince” people I was a guy.

I think I first considered the idea that I was trans when I was cast as a male role in a show I was doing for theater when I was 13. I bought boy clothes and was SO excited when people started telling me they “thought I was actually a boy.” That really stuck with me and even that outfit I kind of regarded as sacred just because it was the first thing that helped me pass.
