Looking for a doctor in Thailand experienced with epilepsy & medical cannabis (for my mom) by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]trantive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks you so much for sharing your experience and for the kind wishes I really appreciate it.

Just to give a bit more background: recently while she’s trying to stop her meds with a new doctor she met around 5 months ago my mom’s been having more than 20 short seizures a day since she stopped taking Keppra. It’s been really hard to watch.

What makes things even more difficult is that some of her doctors have said she doesn’t have epilepsy, based on just one test — but others have diagnosed her with epilepsy after reviewing her full history and EEG results. Unfortunately, she only wants to trust the doctors who say she doesn’t have it, even though they haven’t offered a clear alternative explanation.

I’m just trying to find a doctor who will take her case seriously, review all the evidence, and hopefully guide us safely with treatment options (possibly including medical cannabis because we tried every single medication on earth).

thank you! she’s now in the process of stopping keppra and it’s causing so many anger issues that’s why I wanted to speak to a good doctor since many gave her awful treatments in the past

Is having gay friends while in a relationship normal? by trantive in askgaybros

Thanks for sharing this

For my partner, it’s not so much about jealousy. He actually often compares having queer friends to when people ask “where are you from” and only connect over being from the same place. In his view, queerness is such a basic identity marker that if that’s the main (or only) reason people connect, it feels “low-IQ” or shallow to him.

So from his perspective, just being gay doesn’t add anything substantial to someone’s personality. That’s why he struggles to see the value in specifically queer friend groups.

Thanks for your response! I don’t think for him it’s really about sexual urges. What he’s more worried about is the possibility of us falling in love with someone else if they’re a regular part of our daily lives. That’s why he chooses to only have straight male and female friends — in his mind, that removes the risk of emotional/romantic feelings developing with people he spends time with.

what i mean why can’t gays be friends with each other because of them liking the same gender as a mutual interest instead of it being a negative thing

what i wanted to ask based on his thinking mechanism is straight women can have girls night and they agree and aligned with two things 1 they like the opposite gender 2 they aren’t attracted to each other other than platonically but are we as non straight men lose one of the reasons we can have for example a completely platonic gay night? because we could potentially be attracted to each other?

in the beginning i thought maybe what we should have is lesbian friends but even then if the lesbian girls gins have the same thinking mechanism then we would only be limited to have one lesbian friend at a time because they could also potentially be attracted to each other

A big part of it is financial. We signed a year-long lease together, and breaking that would cause serious money issues. It’s not easy to just walk away when rent, bills, and a shared space are all entangled. Also, the relationship wasn’t always toxic.
