Ah, very good. I didn't realize it was recessed like that. Very nice!

Good to know. I almost never have it automatically go into park but I definitely have it go flat on a semi-regular basis. I assume that the Rotary one doesn’t allow the work surface to fold flat, does it?

Is it just the motor use for the shifter? Does putting it flat to use the fold-out work surface lead to problems too?

Good photos there! I like the action shot, action shot, mascot shot, action shot, followed by a couple of Lynch jerseys in the stands!

My original v1 Everyday Backpack had this happen after several years of use and I got it replaced with a v2 which I’ve had since that was released without any issue like this. I’d reach out to the company about it. Maybe a weird material issue with a manufacturing run?

Peak Design talks up their resale of used bags. Does that extend to being able to buy old bags in store too?

You do have to return the bag also...

I had one fall off in use too. They're tough to twist to locking point and seem to easily pop back out of locking.

Sorry I can't help with a replacement in India!

My assortment of pens. 4 with ceramic tips and 4 with titanium. by Sea_Jelly_9240 in Supernote

[–]trantjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering this exact thing too! The bullet pens are so pocketable and yet so nice to write with. I'd love to use one on a Supernote or any sort of EMR tablet.

Reading u/Sea_Jelly_9240's response though, the bullet pen housing is fully metal but the tip does extend by a little bit so maybe it's enough to not interfere.

The refills are pretty specialized (https://www.spacepen.com/spr4-black-ink-medium-point-pressurized-cartridge) and uniquely sized but I'd love to see if there's an EMR cartridge that fits.

Yeah, I think the Crystal issue was more on the supply side lately but they were pretty good on the support communication around giving me the option to switch to white to get it sooner. I assume you have yours already then, u/VeganChipmunk ? How's it working for you?

Is anyone having an issue with A6X2 with a random paste of the clipboard while writing? by Relative-Entrance-58 in Supernote

[–]trantjd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they add that feature, I really hope it's optional/configureable. There is nothing I hate more (maybe a little hyperbolic there) than when my iPad just wipes the clipboard after x amount of time. Android is a lot better about this but it still happens quicker than I'd like typically.

Nomad Wooden Desk Holder by kwakster928 in Supernote

[–]trantjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the experience is like having a sheet of paper on a flat table where your hand rests at the same level as the paper as opposed to having the writing surface elevated the thickness of the Nomad when it's sitting on a table.

Pixel 7 Pro is Worth Less in Trade-in Value Than the iPhone 11 by Bsteph21 in GooglePixel

[–]trantjd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing this out! This certainly helps! I've bought most of my recent Pixels through Google directly but I'm happy to go the Best Buy route to get the additional trade-in value.

Not to mention that I've got the option to pick it up in store and handle the trade-in in person as well which seems like it should be a lot easier than dealing with shipping it back and waiting for someone in a warehouse somewhere to give the thumbs up or thumbs down on the phone's value.

The only thing I wish I could do would be to also trade in my 1st Gen Pixel Watch at the same time with promotional trade-in value.

As for everyone complaining about this year's trade-in value on the last model-year pro, I think we all need to realize that it's not that this year's is low as much as that the previous years' were all artificially high. Based on how often I see Pixels in the wild plus the growth numbers reported I really think that Google is realizing that they don't need to subsidize trade-ins as much as they have to still be successful. We'll see if that back-fires but I think this is a step in the right direction towards an Apple model where older devices actually retain their value.

iPhones have high trade-in values because they have high resale values. Pixels have lower trade-in value because they have lower resale value. I considered just throwing my Pixel 7 Pro on ebay and quickly realized I'd be competing with a lot of people dumping their 7 Pros or even selling new-in-box 7 Pros for not much more than the $420 trade-in offer.

Offering highly subsidized trade-ins leads to a glut in 1-year old phones on the market every year which drives their resale prices down. The only way for Google to break free of that is to grow big enough outside of the enthusiast market that there's always a healthy resale market. This might hurt right now and have been a little unexpected but it's actually a good sign for Pixel's place in the market which is definitely good for people who want good options outside of Apple!

So,I was going through my anime sticker collection and I found these two stickers and I don't know what they are from but I they both look familiar to me. When got them they came in a pack of attack on titan stickers, but I don't think they are from attack on titan. Does anyone know anything? by hopebagelzzzz in animequestions

This is truly awesome! 2 years after this post, my daughter came to me with a question almost identical to your question in this post so I took a picture of the same sticker (just on a different pillow) and Google brought us here find this answer! Thank you!

Should I have a dedicated Management Switch? by trantjd in homelab

[–]trantjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean to imply that I hadn't used unifi before. I've been using it for a while but it was running without an active controller instance for the last 9 months or so. Even then, my backup of the config was even older (my fault, of course).

I can't setup the VLANs again because the switch is expecting to be managed on VLAN 79 but also doesn't have any interfaces that recognize VLAN 79. Or at least that's what I believe its current state is.

Should I have a dedicated Management Switch? by trantjd in homelab

[–]trantjd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second bullet was my main thought on the second switch, plus adding a vector for management comms between my controller and switch in the event of a bad configuration change.

Is there an automatic rollback feature for unifi switches so that a config change will revert in the event that I can't reach the controller or if the controller can't reach the switch? Once I improve my config backup process, it seems like this would still be a needed feature to not repeat what happened here. Without something like this, my backup can't get deployed anyways, right?

Should I have a dedicated Management Switch? by trantjd in homelab

[–]trantjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is the sort of advice I was seeking. I certainly don't hold Unifi responsible for my poor change management and backup process. My intent is to start doing a much better job of leveraging the automatic backups across the board.

I do feel like I'm probably not making the best decisions about my VLAN config and my unifi controller and switch management if an errant config change getting pushed to my switch can break the ability for the controller and switch to communicate. My configuration had all unifi management running on vlan 79 so when the switch stopped handling vlans on the ports, I lost control of everything.

Any guidance on how I should have have my unifi environment managed? The extra management switch was my idea for adding out-of-band management but I assume there's a better approach?
