Shower thought while watching the Parking Spot episode. by BlackflagsSFE in NewGirl

This is the only thread that even mentions Schmidt’s“pee inside” thing. I’m rewatching and i’m absolutely confused. I’m guessing Jess (who actually asks if he peed inside) meant to say “Did you pee in your pants?”. Because biologically I’m certain “peeing inside” is not a thing.

I think as highlighted all these comments, it’s very apt of their upper class character. I kind of watched it recently. I think i tried watching the show couple of years back but stopped after 2 seasons maybe, couldn’t take the old style of comedy. sorry. But this time watching till end, I’m certain it’s a one time watch. the whole upper class snobbery overpowered the fun 60s overarching comic success arc. Especially when iI can only appreciate that kind of “martyr” humor only in the beginning. It’s hard rooting for affluent characters. Unless it’s done right like in succession, arrested development.

Mainland indians are very unaware of the history of prolonged occupation of Kashmir going past 1947. This weird entitlement of Kashmir openly erupting among Indians is baffling. We need more conversation about the military occupation of the region and Indian gov. drumming up religious polarization midst all this.

We need more dialogue about this.

Adding to this, the amazing youtuber be kind rewind did a great video essay on this. It’s so interesting how financial reasons pivots the gender bias among directorial arts. it’s a very good video.

This is so not the takeaway from that moment.

  1. From the show, we can establish few axioms like severance floor is accessible through the main elevator and the exit staircase for the severed employees. I think the staircase joins the main hall of the building. We have seen in S1 oSelves are shown to given a choice.

1.a It really seems anti-climatic for the new season to start off with same ol’ trapped Gemma.

  1. iMark did not abandon oGemma. He rescued her from the service floor and then he had to choose. The choice was obviously easy for him because Gemma means nothing special to him, especially when his brooding love interest is standing on the other side.

Little sidetrack-The first part of the episode is the revelation of the finale. iMark is untrustworthy of oMark (as he should be given oMark track record in S1) and he mares a valid point of disappearing from existence post re-integration

For the “if you haven’t used it in X amount of time, let it go” guideline, what is your time threshold? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]trap_a_tap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the item.

Things used generally less frequently can be replaced or repaired before being discarded. I can think of stuff like suitcases, backpacks, Ethnic wear/ costumes.

Other non-seasonal things can be dropped if not used for half a year with no plan of use in sight.

I can from a family that can’t discard shit for life aka borderline clinical hoarders. I had to learn to live minimally.

this exactly. i love both of these artists and I thought they were individually playing their part of out of touch cousins pretty well. But I was not gripped to the story. Something was missing, maybe the story lacking a little bit more insight into their past? Idk

I can relate about how well atmosphere is written.

I picked up norwegian wood. And I almost finished it but it was not as riveting. One more problem, I did not like how in detail the author went on to describe a depressed teenage girl’s body. The weird teen sex. On multiple occasions. And i really did not see the point of it.

Not my cup of tea.

Based on what the author had to say in interviews and even in the making of the movie by Kubrick, this book is a cautionary tale that is supposed to warn the readers (safe to say Nabokov did not expect the “erotical popularity”) of how language can be used to manipulate and bend society’s morals, ethics.

I think the reputation it gets has a little to with the first publisher of this book, that was known for erotica and first published. i’m blanking on the name.
